Personal:
I am married and have two wonderful kids, 14 and 10. I've been running since 1982. I never get "basic" injuries. I always get the real nasty career threatening kind, like stress fracture of the sacrum, ganglion cyst clamping down on my peroneal nerve.
Ran the first 3.25 miles of Jeff and Josh's run with them out at Hawthorn Park. Legs are still quite dead. Actually ran normal pace, 22:45. Pretty warm and humid, 88. Back of knee didn't hurt at all during run.
Did 5 minutes on the Octane before. Legs didn't feel all that great. Then tried to run 3 miles. Didn't even make it a quarter mile before I was walking and stretching. Legs are completely unresponsive. Ran another quarter mile and turned around to head back home. Had to stop at 3/4 and walk the rest of the way home... Might take quite a while to recover.
Ran a pretty decent 5 miles tonight, from home, Hasselburger loop. Pretty quick considering my legs are still pretty sore, tons better than I felt lastnight. 34:13 for 5 miles. Temp a pretty warm 89 degrees and humid, pre-storm weather.
