Played basketball this morning for 40 minutes, didn't move too fast, but trying to get a little movement back in my legs and hips. I'm going to try to run a few easy miles tonight after work. Went and did 2 easy miles up to the fire hydrant and back home 7:45 average pace, then did 1.5 miles on the grass field at the church next to my house. I was trying to determine if it would be a very good place to ever do some speed work. It is nice that it is on grass, but my overall assessment was not that great, I think the footing isn't the best, and some of the corners would be a little tight to turn. I'm going to go and ran around a few more places in Hurricane later in the week. Since I've lived down here I've mainly done speed workouts on the Hurricane track, but running on the track gets kind of old. When I lived in Colorado, we had a great complex with quite a few soccer fields which made it nice to run repeat 800s and 1600s on the grass.

I know you love basketball - but is it the best thing to be doing right now with your hips?

I often get hurt playing ball, but I love it too. I think it is a good break from just running. Hope that hip gets better!
