Track workout this evening in gorgeous light winds and 60 degree temps - nice. Started with 2.25 mile warmup at about 7:30 pace. In preparation for racing 200s, 400s and 800s over the next couple years, I decided that I will do most of my track work at distances of 300, 500 and 1,000 meters, with speedy stuff out of the blocks thrown in as well. Today I did one of each with full recovery (300 at 49 sec; 500 at 89 sec; 1,000 at 3:32), with the plan to build to a once per week effort of 300, 500, 1000, 500, 300. My other regular workout will be 8 to 12 X 200 at 800 pace with jog across the infield recovery. Onward. |
