Easy 4-miler in the neighborhood, mostly on the "bridle trails" - most of my neighborhood was built in the late 50's/early 60's, and the developer left wide easement/alley ways behind and between the houses. Where we are used to be considered the outskirts of town and there were quite a few horsey folk in the area, so the easements were maintained as bridle paths... miles and miles of em. Over the years they evolved into powerline easements, but they remain open to the public and are maintained nicely with fairly smooth, grassed footing. Its a nice change from asphalt or the trails I usually run. Up and on the road to Atlanta at the crack of dawn tomorrow to watch the boychild race a couple 800s in relays - should be fun. |
