New trail uphill to the ravine trail then north loop and back to the jeep.  Saw my first ever bobcat on the trails - cool/creepy - he at least was more creeped out by me than I of him.  He was considerably bigger than I thought bobcats were - winter fluff maybe.

Bobcats are cool. I have a fox who runs with me occasionally on a trail near work. Coyotes too.

We have mountain lions here but I've never seen one. A couple years ago a mountain lion that a couple of University of Utah scientists had a radio collar on crossed the entire Salt Lake Valley over a 3 day period with her two cubs and no one reported seeing them. The valley is about fifteen miles wide with about a million people and they crossed I-15 and I-215.Shows how much they try to avoid people I guess.

Pretty amazing. I've been running these trails for 15 years and have never seen one. Asked the ranger about them and he told me they get occasional sightings but their home territory is so large that there are rarely more than one or two pairs in the park at a time, and like you said, they are very shy of peeps.
