Was that you who mentioned the bout of PF (not even gonna try to spell it) on my blog? Has that been a regular problem for you over the years?

Yep and yep, I've had it off and on for a few years, but never to this extent. Usually I can be rid of it within a week to 10 days with attention to stretching and icing. This time, I tried that and just kept running through it and it went on and on and on. I (and my doc who is a runner) conclude it was combination of too much running too soon after very little running during the winter and too much weight on the bod. He suggested the run/bike alternating schedule for several weeks that I'm doing now, and keep up the stretching/strengthening and icing. We'll see

Bummer. But I think you're right about the weight thing.

I highly reccomend "Racing Weight" by Matt Fitzgerald. You can find it in almost any Barnes and Nobel among the running books.

Hi Doug - Rob emailed me that you had registered on this site, which I took as a hint and did the same. http://bret.fastrunningblog.com/

Good to see you - however brief, at Preview last week. BTW - Doesn't look to me like you have a weight issue. Probably old age as the cause of your aches and pains!
