Personal:

Married, with 1 daughter

IT Analyst/Programmer for 20 years. Also, an avid gardner with a small retail nursery on the side.

I've been a runner most of my life. I started running in 5th grade when the high school coach started a "run for fun" program at all the grade schools in the school district. Also, growing up my neighbor, who was about 8 years older than me, was a superstar in high school with a 4:15 1600m in the early 80s. So I had some good role models.

Most important, I love the Lord, and serve Him in my church and in Bible Study Fellowship, which is an international Bible Study open to people of all church backgrounds (i.e. interdenominational). If you are looking for a phenomenal way to study the Bible and draw closer to God this is the study for you. Check out BSFInternational.org to find a class near you. They are all over the place!

Easy 3 in the snow in 25:16 (8:25/mile)

Lots of snow (for here), about 6 inches and still falling. It didn't matter which direction I went the snow was hitting my face. I will have to find something to protect my eyes for my noon run if it is still snowing like this. My face is still frozen.

Splits: 8:52 - 8:20 - 8:04.5

 Noon

7.06 miles in the snow in 57:09 (8:05/mile)

Conditions are pretty challenging today. Only one road had been plowed. The park I ran through had at least a foot of snow and I got to blaze a new trail through it. Traffic was fairly light, but seems like there were always cars in the way at the wrongest times. Overall things went pretty well, but just before I got off the last road a truck came towards me and I had to jump off into the piled snow on the side. Unfortunately the truck was close to the edge of the road and sprayed me with slush. Yuck. With less than half a mile to go all of a sudden my legs were soaked.

I had the same problem with the snow in my eyes today. They were more like tiny ice crystals than snowflakes. Still fun to be out there though. I normally take 2 days off before a race, but I may have to run tomorrow if it's still like this.

yeah, and here it was right around 32 degrees, so the flakes were just on the verge of melting. I hope it all melts before your race Saturday.

Snow running in traffic, the new "extreme" sport.

Oh how I hate the slush after a snow storm! I have been sprayed more times than I can count and always glad to make it home in one piece with frozen, wet toes! Great time running in the snow!!

Yeah, slush is the worst. Snow is fun, but slush is like big piles of water just waiting to soak my shoes.

It is nasty out there this morning. I thought about running for about 2 seconds and decided to pass. The walk to work was sloppy enough in my big 'ol boots.
