| | pm- So today we just did a 35ish minute run through dogtown loop and it was awesome. My legs are a little sore but other than that I feel great. I really am excited to see what I can do this track season. Big goals coming in so I'm ready to work harder than I was!

| | pm- So today we did a beaster trail out by Quail Lake and it was super fun! It was a ton of roller coasters and then the varsity guys and Josie went up to the top of the mountain and that was crazy. I just about died twice. But it was all worth it cause the view on top was beautiful. I love St George. And it was a 48 minute run.

| | pm- Today was a nice chill day out to chick-fa-la and round a corner and back. I was the only one who wanted to go longer so we only did a 40 minute run. I was a lil' bummed about that so I just tried to make our pace faster. It kinda worked out that way. Great weather today tho!

| | pm- Went out to old man hills and did 4x800. It was just at a fast pace, nothing super serious and so I just went out front and then worked on my form. the times were 2:55, 2:57, 2:55, and finished with a 2:49, according to Skylars watch. Great run. I am really sore tho.

| | pm- Today we did the Kosmin Test and I felt pretty flat. I started out and I just kinda went but didn't really go after it. I was about 50 meters away from a full lap the first 60 seconds. Then I fell back on the second 60. The third I started getting back, and the last I was going and then I felt crappy and Mitch passed me and thats when I knew I needed to speed up. I got ahead of him and finished right behind Andrew. Not the best but it was just the start of track so I will work hard and be ready for the next one whenever it is.

St. George 5K (3.107 Miles) 00:17:16, Place overall: 6, Place in age division: 3 | | am- I did the st george 5k with some other guys and I felt really good compared to yesterday. I did feel a little sluggish at the start but after I felt really good. I was running with Preston and we were just behind Cam and I tried to go after him but he had a decent lead on me so I finish a little bit behind him. And Alex went with me after Cam but I also left him but not by much. I love prizes tho!

| | am- first morning run and I felt pretty dang good. We went out a good distance and yeah.
pm- Repeats was the word on the track! it was just 85% today so my goal time was 5:39. Andrew and I were right at the same thing so that worked out nicely. We hit 5:38, 5:35, and finished with a 5:31! I really wanted to go with Nick up front but Andrew told me I was going way to fast so I calmed down. I was just really excited for our first workout!

Great run, its too bad that only Andrew, Preston, Nick, Jake, me, and coach were the ones who went out all the way. oh yeah I tripped on the fence we jump over and that was embarrassing.

| | pm- I went down on the virgin river trail and did my LT tempo there. My goal pace was 5:30. I decided to do two sessions of 7 and a half minute intervals. I was 5:35 pace on the first and 5:25 on the second. I was really feelin good tho. after the tempo, not so much. I got home and was at 50 minutes so I took the dog out for a run to finish off the 60 minutes.

| | pm- Mile repeats today, still at 85%. Goal time was a nice even 4:40! So coach did the workout with us today but he was up with Nick so he wouldnt be alone running 5:15's! What a beast Nick is. So Andrew and I were working together like usual and Jake came along too! My times were 5:39, 5:38, 5:36, and finished with a nice 5:33! I felt decent but I ate a lil' home lunch and a regular school lunch for lunch. Bad idea cause I just about tossed it up in the workout. After the repeats we did 2x300 all out! So beast, even tho I only ran 48s. I feel like my speed is starting to get better. Lookin' forward to the Root Beer Mile this friday. It is gonna be a legit race;)

pm- I didn't start til 5:45 and so it got dark and cold throughout my run. I went down to the virgin river trail again for my LT tempo and I split it up into two 7:30 parts with 5 min recovery. My paces were like 5:30 and then 5:25? I felt really good, and then I ran all over to get my 80 minutes total. and I got a new record on my watch.... longest run! 11 miles so that was cool.
Goals for next week: I will do better to be taking in healthy stuff and vitamins. I need to do better on the hills.

| | am- nice easy peasy 30 min and it ended up being 3.93 miles, to be exact!
pm- monday and a great set of mile repeats! It was 85%, so my goal time was 5:40. We started out a little quick at a 5:36. Then we just kept it there for the next two, 5:37 and 5:36. Then the last all of us pushed a little harder and I got a 5:32! I felt great, a little tight but nothing bad. Then we put in a couple 300's for speed stuff. My first was bad, I got a 48. I wasn't turning over fast enough. Then after watching Paul really kill his first 300, I tried my best to imitate his quick turn over. I got a 46! It was awesomeness:) We had weights after and I upped my squat and bench weight so I feel super buff!

pm- 7.21 miles total and 50 minutes. Today was tempo and wow what a workout. I was right up in the front pack and then after about 13 minutes I started to fall off and then with 16 minutes in I pushed back up and lead the pack with Coach til the end of our 18 min tempo..... but pysch! It was supposed to be 20 minutes and everybody fell off and so Coach and I finished the last 2 minutes and that was good. I was hurtin but definitely felt awesome after cause I really had a great second half finish and was able to get back up with the guys.

Good running from everybody as we come into track season. It is gonna be legit! I am wanting to go for some big stuff this track season with the 3200, I love that one btw. We did striders after the run too. Oh we saw a gnarly crash on industrial today and one of the cars looked like my dads! But no worries, it wasn't!

| | pm- So I started from my house and ran over to the high school and then down to the sullivans park and ran the tempo on the trail. It was soo dang hot! Oh man I was dying. This time I split up my 15 minutes of tempo into a 9 min and a 6 min with a 3 min recovery. I went about 5:30 and then 5:20 with the pace. Then I looped up to the telegraph and ran all the way back to artic circle and then to my church building and back to the house! What a run. I stopped in the Running Center to check out if they had any shoes that were dope. I found some but I didnt like the price.
|
| | Goals for the week: Get faster in my 300's on the track and my 400's on the hills workout day.
|
| | am- Wow it was sure warm this morning!
pm- Oh today was awesome! Mile repeats at 87% so my goal time was 5:33. So we start out and Andrew and I get a 5:32! But the next one I had a really bad side ache to the point were I was tilting hard to my right cause it hurt super bad. I just pushed through it and still hit a 5:34. Then the next was awesome and we were rotating leaders for each lap which was fun and helpful. The time on that one was 5:31. And then the last started out with a quick lap lead by Jake and then it was just flyin' around the track the rest of the time:) 5:22! Super great. Then we did 2x300's and I got a couple 46's for that. I am feeling my speed coming to me. I am super excited for some racing comin' up! Time to BeastandFeast! And we did weight after and I am sooo swol;)

|
| | Well I have not posted in a while cause I was a lil' behind in school and then I got sick so the last week has been pretty much heck in a bucket. Naawww what really was bad was when I went to get my dog to go run today since I feel better finally, there was a dead mouse IN his drinking water bucket!!!! SUPER SICK! I basically barfed my face off but not really. Anyways, I didnt even take my dog on the run because I was scared he drank from the bucket and was going to get me sick again but with something WAY worse. Yeah, then I went running out through the 2140 east park, down the alley where the one kid gave the driver guy some birds, if ya know what I mean;) and then I went up through the park right by millcreek and over to Fossil and back up to my house. People were honking at me but my blindness is getting worse so I could not even see what their probably beautiful faces looked like...... Well that is my story for today and the past week or so. Tchau

| | am- Wow the snow storm seriously came out of nowhere! Like I get out of bed and what the......? Just speachless. and the the run was great and cold, but great! My face was froze when we were done tho
pm- Nice recovery day for the half-marathoners and good for me as I'm getting back from sickness all last week. And after we did the first two events in the Decathlon! today was the 400 and the shot put! I once again hit my PR of 1:03..... this is embarrassing but thats the 8th time. Yeah um the shot put was dope, I got 18feet and 8inches. Oh yeah and after we had weights so I am so swol;)

| | am- nice easy 4 today. It is cold but a nice chill?
pm- We ran the DI loop and then did laps around the track for a bit. To make this better, we did a reverse indian run and that was cool until everybody slowed down. I got pretty BH and yeah. Todays decathlon events were the 300 huddles and the javelin. I did pretty ok for both:) 53.46 and then the javelin was 47' 4''.

| | am- Today was pretty cold on the Dallen Scale, coming in at a double shirt day temperature. Wow we were really flyin' today with Josie up with us! We hit a new record for farthest distance goin out: Starbucks:)
pm- Another recovery day which was nice cause I think that after this one I am ready for a workout and thats what Coach said we are gonna do! Perfect! Today's events of the decathlon was the 110 hurdles, 200m, and the high jump. My 110 time was 21.57, and 200m time was 28.9. And the high jump was taking forever so Nick, Cam, and I went on the track and talked about some beasts that did/do the high jump like Adam Timo(now he is Adam Hine) and Chandler Swaney and the Lehi guy @ the PV invite last year. Then after forvever I jumped in and just jumped once cause I really didn't want to wait. I hit 4' 6''. And then we all ran around the school to finish the total 60 minutes. Weights after, I was a lil' sore for that.

| | pm- Well today in the decathlon was the discus throw, 100m dash and the long jump. Wow I really am glad I do distance. I suck at all the other stuff. I threw 58' 7'' on the discus and then did the 100m in 14.33 and the long jump was kinda sad how short I jumped...... 11' 10''...... yeah. Well after we went to the old youngsters hill and did some hard core repeats. Wow it was good to be back, I miss that hill:) after we went down to the park by milcreek and saw some peeps making out, so that was interesting. We looped up to Wells Fargo and across to Harts and back down to the great PVHS. Great day today, but I am not so happy with a lot of people being in bad moods. If your gonna come to track, be dang happy! oh well I just gotta get that out there.

|
| | am- easy peasy 4 miles in the morning! Today just feels like a great day!
pm- So the workout today was 4x1600 and Coach had us group up and just go with a average pace between the group. My group was Presto, Andrew, Alex, Mitch and me! I felt a little nasty cause my lunch was trying to come back up! Yeah not so good. Anywho, our goal time was 5:22. Our first couple were good. Started a lil' slow, 5:25, but got quicker on the next with a 5:21. Then the third we slowed down on the third lap so our time was 5:23. The last was just great, Alex pushed hard out the first 800, and then Presto, Andrew and me took over for the second half and finished with a 5:17. The 300's were okay, I came in at 47 both times. Great day and weights came after so that made it better!
Congrats to our PV Basketball team winning state on saturday! It was sooo legit.

| | am- Josie, Alli, Anna, and Karli and Me met at the high school at 8 cause we didnt have school cause the Juniors had the ACT. So we all were together for the first lil' bit but then me and Josie sped up and went farther cause we just wanted to go faster. And after we went to IHOP and got free pancakes! We saw some Desert Hills xc peeps so that was kwel!
pm- We ran out on Telegraph and then down through Hell's Hole which ended up being like 8 miles. I learned lots of meanings for words that I didn't know before.... yeah I will just leave it at that;) Super legit run and lots of funny stuff. The striders tho were soooooo cold! After when we went inside to do our BeastandFeast's, I was late to do um cause I took 8 minutes to tie my shoes. My hands were frozen.
Pretty sweet, I got a recruiting letter from Yale today! I was pretty excited and now some dudes in my class call me "Yale Boy". That's a wrap

| | am- Wow I thought it would be cold today cause of the frost but it was real nice!
pm- Today was a pretty beast workout; it was 12x400's at 1600 race pace. My goal time was 70 seconds and after the 3rd, 6th, and 9th ones we did heartrate. So my times were 71, 70, 70, 70, 70, 69, 69, 70, 70, 69, 69, and 69. Great workout, I really tried to push that second half and thats were I would gap our group (Andrew, Mitch, Alex, and later Jake). My heartrates were good too! after the 3rd it was 118 bpm, after the 6th one it was 126 bpm, and after the 9th one it was 124 bpm! So I can say that it was a solid day for me. And me and Andrew practiced handing off the baton and we messed up so we had to do 25 push-ups. I felt weak after doing those so I went in the weight room and pumped out some hard-core reps.

| | pm- Today we did a good ol' easy run and 4x200s for the prerace stuff! We ran up foremaster and everybody but Andrew, Paul and me were being lameo and going super slow up the hill. oh well the run was great; I had to stop at Artic Circle to take a john so everybody was halfway done with their 200s. I have no idea how fast I was running those but it felt fast! That is a wrap

| | am- easy almost 4 miles/ 30minutes with the team! It is way warmer here in st gezzy than Hawaii. btw, I was in Hawaii for the last week and was a domo and didnt really run. I will pay for that.
pm- So todays workout was 4x1600's like usual. Goal time was 5:22. So I really was happy with how I did compared to what I thought. My times were 5:24, 5:27, 5:34, and again 5:34. I was a few meters behind Warbeast and Andrew for the first three. Then the last one I went beast with 2.5 laps left when everyone was struggling. That was good cause it got Andrew up and then he lead the last lap. I was dying but its good that Coach had me still do the workout cause its my own ---- fault for not running. Then we had 300s and I did really good for not running: 47 and 47. And weights after so I can get big;)

| | am- nice morning run with the team. It is really nice weather in the morning but not so in the afternoon:/
pm- we started real quick cause we put on a youngsters meet @4 which was basically just PV kiddos. We ran out to Nicks house and then down through the desert over there and looped through Washington. We ran past Sandbergs and it was super low. 5.25 miles total, 45minutes

| | am- I didnt get good sleep but I felt good for the run? weird
pm- Todays workout of the day was 6x800 @ 3200 goal pace with HR check every 2. So my goal pace was 2:30 along with Warbeast, Uncle Drew, Alex the Lion, Mitch, and Somethingdope. The first was right on for me, 2:30, but I was just feelin pain. The next four were right on 2:32 but I felt pain in the knee and had to take a major deuce on the last so I ran a 2:36:/ Then we cooled down around the school and the Warbeast tripped on coachs feet and wow that was funny. Poor kid had to sprint ahead of us to gather himself together. Total time was 50 minutes.

Hurricane Invitational 3200m (2 Miles) 00:10:35, Place overall: 14, Place in age division: 14 | | am- So we warmed up for a bit and then jumped on the track. I wanted to do better than yesterday so I went up front with Andrew behind Preston, Bronco, and Spencer who were ahead by a bit. I was going and then I started losing my focus and hurting and just feeling empty. I don't know what was happening. Soon, my form was crap and I was falling off quick. It felt like I was like dragging my feet and dropping my hips bad. Coach kept yelling to bring my hips up and finally I tried to finish strong the last 3 laps. I was 200m to go when the Bushars and my parents yelled at me to at least get the dude ahead of me. I got him but then got passed by two dudes and I just crossed the finish line and cried. I thought, "What happened to me? Why did I feel so defeated?" I went to my stuff on the field and sat and just cried for 5 minutes. I gotta just put this weekend behind me. I wasnt diligent with running during Spring break and so it came back and kicked me in the butt. I now know that I have to just have to get real serious now. I love running and I love the team, and I cant let them down like this again. I went home and my dad gave me some exercises to work on my hips so I can perform my best. Once I can get that down and just get my confidence back I will be ready to perform amazingly.

| | am- nice easy 4ish mile run. I am feeling like this week is gonna be a great one which is good considering my bad weekend.
pm- Todays workout was the usual 1600 repeats but Alex, Mitch, and me only did 3 cause we are racing tomorrow. Wow what a confidence booster from the weekend! Goal time was 5:21 and I was hitting times nice and fast. They were 5:19, 5:19, and finished with a 5:20. Then we did the good ol' 300's and that was spot on, too! 46 and 46 again! And after that I went in and beasted in the weight room, upped my bench press by 5 pounds.... yeah thats it.
THE WORD OF THE DAY: I have started this dope thing cause I am so clueless and dont know what a lot of words I hear in school and running and stuff. So todays word is........pimp! What does that even mean, like I feel like it has this secret meaning.....

Snow Canyon JV Meet 1600m (1 Miles) 00:04:55, Place overall: 1 | | am- nice easy 4 miles over to starbucks
pm- Well today was the "Redeem Yourself" meet for me, as I did bad at the hurricane invite. So I did the 1600 today and that was good, not amazing, but good. We start out and this Dhills kido gets in front (I think his name is Josh gibb?) and then I was like 'this is too slow' so I went out in front and it was mitch, Alex, and me the rest of the way. I lead the first and then I told Mitch to take the second. He went in front and then seemingly hit the breaks hard core! I literally shoved him so I wouldn't run him over, and he spead up a lil', but I was feeling like we were going to slow. The third lap Alex went out in front and then I jumped next to him for the last 100m of that one. Then I was like "I gotta go if I want to get a PR today!" so I took off in an 'almost' sprint. I hit the last curve and was definitely feelin' it and gave a finish, but could have been stronger. The timer person said 4:52/4:53 when I came by(but i just found out by my good friend Controversial Cam that the guy was wrong! wow), and Alex was like right on me just like at the Las Vegas Invite! Solid race, and it definitely boosted my confidence. I for sure need to improve on how I raced, but it was a good start of a track season I am looking forward to!
WORD OF THE DAY: aight well todays word is "epaulettes"? I read it in my LA book and it sounded like they rolled up Paul in an electric cigarette!

| | am- wow I really did not want to run this morning.... but I did cause the more I run, the sooner I will get better! And KSL said that successful people exercise in the morning;)
pm- Oh baby what a great workout! We had 6x800's at the 3200 race pace(so goal pace was 2:30). So we start out and just were putting out 'peats like crazy! 2:30, 2:29, 2:30, 2:28, 2:28, and finished with another 2:28! Mitch told me that the level 3 guys had only 5 compared to last weeks 6, so when I found out that he was wrong I was a lil' BH to be honest. I think all of us 1600/3200 guys felt tons better than last week. I am so lookin' forward to the 3200m this weekend. State Qualifying sounds pretty nice right now;)
WORD OF THE DAY: todays word is in honor of Mrs. Goncalves 5th period portuguese class, and the word is "veado", or should I say "Brian"!

| | am- nice morning run with Andrew back from being sick! 3.9 miles total in 30 minutes
pm- pre-race stuff for the Invite tomorrow, we once again did the good ol' shoe run but we put up a run for the best drop-off ever! And at the park brian caught a duck and that poor thing is all I'm gonna say! Then we dropped off the stuff at "you know whos" house and dashed for Sanbergs. Mitch got stung by a bee and it was actually pretty funny how he reacted. It looked like a third nipple tho. Then we did our 4x200's and that is a wrap.
WORD OF THE DAY: the word today is "Hippopotomonstrosesquipedaliophobia"..... I just dont even want to try to figure out what that means.

| | am- nice easy run in the morning. I am super stoked for the PV Invite today!
pm- just did tons of loops around the stadium to help out with the meet. And I did the DI loop wid Warbeast and Mitch. Wow what a day for the invite! Lucy Biles threw down with a 5:00.61, and Josh Collins broke the meet record with a 4:16.21!! dang that was super impressive, and then all the attractive girls, wow. I also got a pic with Conner Baller, Sir Matt Todd and their bud so that was legit! AND I found out that I surprisingly got into the fast heat for the 3200 tomorrow! So dope. Man I am really happy I am running in the morning tho, it was sooo hot today! I got burned hardcore
WORD OF THE DAY: todays word of the day is "voracious". Wow I read this in the practice ACT test thing(btw i might take that thing this summer!) and I was just perplexed.

Pine View Invitational 3200m (2 Miles) 00:10:23, Place overall: 30, Place in age division: 26 | | am- well today was another hard day for me in the 3200m. I was really excited and just ready to go out and race a qualifying time. Well I got in a great spot for the start; it was the waterfall of the first two lanes. The gun goes and I get out good! Wow the first mile I thought was gonna be way quicker than it was. The whole front pack was coming across at 4:53ish til me in the back of that at 5:00 flat. Then everybody spead up and I didn't go with. I got psyched out and really sucked it up the rest. Dang Connor Baller is so beast, he beat Warbeast so now he gets AA. sorry presto, but that was so beast to qualify for state! After the race we ran out to Starbucks and back for the rest of our time. The rest of the meet was solid. I wish I could have done better but I guess I will have to prepare better mentally for next week.
WORD OF THE DAY: well I dont know if this is even a word cause my mom said it and she tends to make up a few words;) anyways, it is "demoaned". yeah I was suprised my momma said that cause it doesn't sound too good:/

| | am- nice easy 4 miles out to starbucks and back. Today just has good vibes people! I'm feelin' it
pm- today was a short day so we ran right after school. All the juniors are getting their ACT scores back so we ran out to Nick's house and then over to Brians house. Nick got a freakin' 31!! Dang that is so dope cause it is his first time taking it too. And we had a workout of 2x(2min hard, 30sec rec, 1min hard, 30sec rec, 30sec hard, 30sec rec) and we did that from Nicks to Brians, and from Brians to Sullivans Park. Solid workout and dope run. Today was just great. We went over to PizzaPieCafe after and feasted.
WORD OF THE DAY: well today is a special day, it is my momma's birthday! So todays word is "mom". So you all go say I love you to your moms today.... or if you want to say "I love you" to my mom, go for it;)

WORD OF THE DAY: Wow well I heard quite a few words that qualified, but the guys told me they were not appropriate for the blog:/ So today's word is "commode". this is in Tuesday's with Morrie which is a sick book, you should all read it!

I stuck right with the dhills dudes, which you guys did pretty good today, and then fell off cause I lost focus I guess. I cant really remember why. But it was a great confidence booster race for me so yeah. And a PR so thats always good:)

pm- Oh baby! wow what a great race for me. So I was super butthurt that I was in the freakin' slow heat so I said to my self "Self, you are gonna win this cause its stupid that you are in this heat!" And thats what I did. So the first lap I started out quick, went out right behind the Dixie kiddo who stole my idea of getting shoes from Ross......wow. I came across with a 64ish and then Coach said to trade the leads so Mitch took the second one. Right when I got the chance, I went right back in the lead which was right before the 3rd lap started. Then I was hurtin' bad, my dinner was trying to come back up:/ But I pushed through cause I didn't want to give up! I mean I was just killin' it! Last lap Coach was yelling to have quick feet and thats what I did. Last 200m I beasted and feasted and came across at 4:48. But the offical time is 4:50. oh well, its still a PR so thats kewl.
WORD OF THE DAY: well today's word has gotta be "regime" cause I just realized that I don't really know what that means. I always just think Hitler. But what was super sick was the analogy that Sage told me about a certain female;) Wow that was deep stuff bro.

| | am- I got in a run right before the first conference session. I didn't get in a 30 minute easy run yesterday afternoon so I thought I would just get it in today! Nice chill run, I had a stare down with a gnarly lookin' dog, so that was cool.
pm- I ran by myself in between Conference sessions. I went down to the river trail and did my 20 min progression tempo there. I started at like 5:55 pace and then went down to 5:30 for the majority of the tempo. It was really hard on my own, I just had to imagine someone right in front of me and pretended to draft off of them. On my way back to my house, I ran with this dude from Colorado who goes to school at UVU? He said in Orem so I'm guessing that's the school. He ran in high school too so that's cool! Then I split off the trail to go home. And then I ran by Macey on my way back through the neighborhoods! Good job to her for getting the run in today. Anywho, the total minutes was 60 and the distance was 8.7 miles total.
WORD OF THE DAY: todays word is "dang!" cause I just saw that Mckay Johns from AF ran a 4:14 at the Alpha Invite! That is freakin' amazing.

| | am- Oh baby! What an awesome workout today; tough but awesome. So today is the usual 4x1600 repeats but @91% and speed up to 93%. So the goal pace was 5:14 down to 5:06. So we start out and I was a little nervous cause we were stuggling to hit 5:18s before but whatev. But the first was right on at 5:14! And Preston was right with me and Alex was just right behind. Then the next one was the exact same as the first, 5:14, but it was just Preston and me. And thats how it was for the rest of the workout. The next one I was thinkin I would help out Presto and me by pushin hard the third lap so I took off and it worked out for us, cause we hit 5:07! Heck to the yes. The last I started out a little too fast cause then I struggled to go with Preston at the last lap and I ended up getting 5:11. But I am happy that I stuck right in there with Preston cause it was just awesome. And then we did the 2x300s all out. The first all the guys did a "elite" 1500m start where you run up to the line and then go. It was freakin' awesome and I ran it in 43! Heck to the yes! but the second one my legs totally gave up with 100 left so I only got 45. Oh well I was soo happy with the first:)
pm- Nice easy 4 mile run in 30 minutes. The breeze was just awesome running in cause it was soo relaxing. I saw Bro. Olsen the seminary teacher so that was cool!
WORD OF THE DAY: the word for today is "taxes" cause I wish I didn't know what that was..... I just started doing them for my paper route..... horrid.......

pm- Panther Relays!!!! So dope, I ran the 1200 in the DMR, the 1st leg in the 4x800, the 3rd leg in the 4x100, and the last leg in the 4x400! Wow what a day it was, I really wanted to do good in the 1200 but I didn't hydrate and didn't race smart either. Oh well. Then I did the 4x100 wid Sage, Boston, and Joe from dhills. That was dope cause we got 3rd to some sprinter teams! and then the 4x800 and 4x400 relays were lame cause the wind was horrid. But a fun time so yeah!

| | am- easy morning run with the guys. We found a boomerang on the run so that was dope!
pm- I had a choir thing so I kinda ran on my own. I saw Tanner Sharp at the choir thing so that was cool. Anywho, I started from my house and ran over to Harts and the guys were right there! They were finishing up their run so I ran with them and then went out and did the rest of the run/workout on my own. The workout was 3(2min hard, 1min rec, 1min hard, 30sec rec, 30sec hard). Hard to do on my own but good at the same time. I had to force myself to focus and push and thats often why I struggle in races: focusing. So it was good for me to really try to focus hard on pushing hard. Good run tho, my right foot in the middle of the palm of my foot really hurt tho!
WORD OF THE DAY: todays word was suppose to be yesterdays but I posted yesterdays runs today, so the word is "coherent" and I can't remember the story behind it so just like the word people!

pm- Shoe run but it got rerouted cause the trail was closed. Then in the river we ran right up to a dead beaver! yeah this is for real people, a dead beaver! Wow that was just weirdish cool.... idk what to think. Dropped off the Minecraft sword at the Ellsworths and J-rod ran after us with it:) Then at Sandbergs resort I scared a lot of cows and it was a little scary cause if it just realized that I'm like as big as its leg I would be dead! And we were giving everyone star wars characters and I got named 10 year old Anakin Skywalker so that's cool. And then after the run we had 4x200s that were supprisingly harder than usual probably cause my ankle is just bothering me a lot.

pm- So I didn't run any events so I just went on a run. The first 20ish minutes it was Josie, Jason, and me and we went up to the water tower and looped over to the road and saw Brianna and Chloe and another girl who are from dhills so that was cool. Then Josie was done with her time so me and Jason went out for another 40 minutes. We ran out to the water park and I saw Bro. Olson! Wow what a great guy. Got back to the high school and did striders on the field. Good day, but my ankle is still hurtin' like the motha-cussa at herriman xc course!

Desert Hills Invitational 3200m (1.988 Miles) 00:10:07, Place overall: 5 | | am- So we warmed up and were just chillin' waiting for the girls to get done. Now race time stuff. So the start is crappy cause the freakin' Canyon View dudes in my alley were all over the place cutting me off. That was really annoying. Then I finally got around them when they didn't know where to go after the alleyways merged. I got right in front with Josh and Spencer. Spencer was leading and Josh was right next to him. Then Josh seemed like he was wanting to use Spencer so he would have to work as hard in the first little bit but Spencer wasn't speeding up. So Josh took off and that was the rest of him. Came across the 1st mile at 4:56. Then I have no idea why but I fell off a couple meters behind the group, right after Andrew took the lead from me. At the 5th lap Coach told me I had to go up in the group I was leading if I wanted to qualify. So I kicked it in and got closer but they were speeding up. Each lap I was constantly trying to get up in the group but it didn't happen til Sage and Bryson fell off and Spencer and McKaid took off from the group. I made a move and passed 4 dudes in the last lap and a half I think. I finished and looked up at the clock and it said 10:07. Dang it! Qualifying is 9:59 so I didn't get that but I did PR by 11 seconds! Heck to the YES!!! Great race. I just need to pour it on during the 6th and 7th cause the 7th lap I ran a 1:18.....yeah. And the 6th lap is right before it so I might as well get going, yeah? haha good day tho.
WORD OF THE DAY: in honor of learning so many words, I have got Merriam-Webster's word of the day, which is "Verdant". Wow I literally have no idea what that even is. It sounds like Virgin so it's probably something super righteous.

| | am- nice easy 4 out to Starbucks and back. I feel a little empty from fast sunday yesterday.
pm- Alright so here is how today's workout went. So we had 1x1000(@ 1600 race pace) and then ?x400's (@ 1600m race pace) and Coach Holt decided when we were done. Thats why there is a '?' right over there. Anyways, I was supposed to get a 2:55 for the 1000 but I got 2:58. So that was not good but the 400's were awesome! I got back in the mode cause I kinda freaked out after our first lap for the 1000 was 63! So the 400's went 70, 70, 71, 70; then we had a 5 minute recovery and back with a time of 70, and the sixth Nick chose me to lead so I went crazy cause the goal with the person that was leading was to serge and everyone try to beat him. Yah! I held off everybody and got a 68. And then everybody was dying so Coach said one more and that was 70. Great workout but it was super hot, like 90's hot!
WORD OF THE DAY: So yesterday I was in a fireside for mission prep and this lady was talking and said "lapel" so thats todays word! I just thought it was an old person word until I heard it like twice during school today.... I can't remember wh but i did!
I also wanted to say that I got my Kinvara 5's today and I'm pretty dang happy. They are the teal ones:)

pm- Coe workout today! wow it was super windy like 30mph! So that was cool. Anywho, the Coe workout is a 100m, 110m, 120m, etc. til 200m a pace depending on your mile and 400m times. All my times were basically right on. It was a fairly easy workout but that's just cause we only had one set. And that's cause we had a beast workout yesterday and one tomorrow morning so I got to get done with this! btw, I love the kinvaras, so soft and comfortable but lightweight at the same time. yeahh thats it for today.
WORD OF THE DAY: my word today is from my good friend Warbeast and he said "lynched" and I was like 'what dat?' So here it is today! haha it makes me think of Mike Finch for some strange reason.....

| | am- wow what a workout this windy morning at 6am! Today's workout was 6x800's @ 3200 goal pace w/ HR checks after two. So I was looking for some 2:29's and here goes the workout. the first two went 2:31, 2:30. Then we took a heartrate check and I was at 106! Wow that was good. Then the next two went 2:30, 2:30. HR after that was 114! then the last two were strong and I went strong on the first and stronger on the second. Times were 2:29 and 2:27. I really liked the workout despite the wind. And it was a solid workout which was cool considering that we have done workouts the last 3 of 4 runs.
pm- Everybody was being lame but Andrew, Paul, Skylar and Jason and me cause they all went slower than girls morning pace! yeah that slow.... anyways we went ahead and got the usual amount of distance in for 30 minutes. Then we got back and did the youngsters meet and that was cool. haha Coach's daughters like were almost winning all the events:)

pm- Oh wow school just flat out sucked today. I just had one thing after another and so I really was happy when school got out so I could go run and just relax and get my stress out. Great run, we did our usual "shoe" run and when we got to the Ells' house and their daddy-o was right there in his car! haha he honked at us cause we still dropped the stuff off. And then I rubbed the eagle on the beak for good luck with the 3200m on Saturday:) got back to the High school and did 4x200's on the track. Great run and nice to get my stress out.

Dixie Invitational 3200m (1.988 Miles) 00:10:05, Place overall: 7, Place in age division: 2 | | am- Wow what a race today was! So I really was feelin' it today, like I was gonna qualify for state(9:59.14) and that fun stuff, but that didn't happen. So the race starts and I got out perfectly and just chilled right behind the front dudes (Jaiden, Josh, Bronco) and it was all good first mile, which btw was 4:57. Then the 5th lap came and Warbeast went after Spencer and I should have gone with but I thought I could go later. Then Sage got ahead of me by 10-15 meters but starting slowly gapping to that much. I shoulda gone right on his back but I didn't! Shame on me:) So I came across with one lap left and had to run a 1:10 to qualify but didn't push hard enough the first 200m of the last lap. But I really am still happy cause I got a PR and I now am realizing that if I can just remember what I have been practicing with running right on someone to help me that I can do it. I just gotta do it in the race. But it was a decent race for me so all is well. Oh and our run after was so cool. I freakin' love to run, just thought I would let ya all know;)

| | am- wow coach wasn't there this morning and so everybody was going super slow.
pm- Well I am pretty butt-hurt right now and here is why. So today was early-out day and I ate lunch later than usual(this is important for later in my story) and then I went home and read a book, which actually was pretty good(the book is "Tuesday's with Morrie", it is quite inspirational) but then I fell asleep. I wake up to my mom saying "Dallen!" and I knew exactly what was goin' on. I was freakin late to practice! AN HOUR LATE!!! Oh I show up and Coach Holt just laughs and tells me the workout. So the workout was 3x1600's @ 93% and that did not happen espeacially since I was running on my own. I ran a 5:08 the first and a 5:16 the second. Then the third I was on pace for my goal pace(5:01) for a couple laps but after the third lap I was way behind so I just dropped. Plus with my lunch being later than usual I think you can figure out why I dropped! Then I tried to do 2x300's all out and did a 44 and a 46. Oh I am just soooo freakin mad that I slept in. And I really wanted to slug Hell Raiser in the face when he asked how my book was, And now I feel like I am gonna pass out cause it was sooo hot outside today!!
WORD OF THE DAY: my word of the day today is "Jeremiad" cause my homie J-word Jason used it in his blog. Sounds like a mad germ but Idk.

So Coach gave all the guys and girls who qualified for state a super dope duffel bag so I am totally gonnna qualify for state this weekend in the 3200m which is the only event I am doing again:) Anywho, the workout today was 10x400's @ race -3secs(recovery 2min first four, 1.5min next three, 1min last three). So for me on the 400's was 69. So we start out and my legs were a lil' sore but no worries people, I did not give up! At first I just thought I will go right with Preston. And that worked cause we had the same time. So the first five reps were 70, 68, 68, 68, and 69. Then Preston was starting to start faster but I would serge hard with 150m left and finish right next to him. So that was what happened the rest. Reps were 69, 69, 69, 69, and another 69. A great workout today, I am really happy with how I have really came back from a crappy start to track season. I think I just wasn't in the right mental state. And then at the Ultraspire meet over at D-hills I guess I decided to get my head out of my butt! haha alright that's it for today.
WORD OF THE DAY: my word for today is "cheater" cause Coach Holt can give you a good talk about what that is;) Wow it is so asinine when people cheat, honestly!

| | am- nice easy morning run and it is sooo nice in the morning!
pm- So we passed out flyers for the running center out in Coral Canyon area and so we just ran the route and then did some running around up there. So weird, my back was hurting which has never happened before but it was just for a little bit. oh well! Nice run and I found out that Alek Parsons from Ogden is running in the 3200m this weekend! I am gonna be in the same race as Parsons?!? oh man its gonna be dope.
WORD OF THE DAY: in honor of my homie Connor Baller, today's word is "asinine" and I do know what that means and it is an adjective and is used to describe something that is absolutely stupid or like evil, haha or more like "satan" type things;) it is a word that is common in Holts vocabulary.
Sorry for the late post, I was watching "Big Hero 6" which was absolutely amazing! I love it, so beast

| | am- Coe workout #2! It really was pretty easy cause I haven't ran the 1600 or am open 400 and thats what the workout is based off of. So it was pretty chill, i got all my times right on or fast so that's good.
pm- Nice chill 30 minute run with 4x200's for pre-race stuff.

| | am- good morning, I feel real good. we found a sky-ball on the run and played around wid it and it was super dope!
pm- I stayed at the high school and ran wid the freshies again. This very attractive girl said hi to me in the parking lot so that was cool. Anywho, we ran out to the cave and went in and it was super cool, really warm which was weird. Nice run, but it rained at the end and the wind made it super cold.

Snow Canyon Invitational 3200m (1.988 Miles) 00:10:06, Place overall: 12 | | Well I don't know what is up with me! oh the race was good for the first 1600, came across at 4:56. Then I let myself fall off that group and that's what killed me. Oh freakin heck! I gotta get my head out of the controls and let my heart take me where I want to go! It wasn't a bad race, but i very well know that I could have done better so that is always annoying. But i am now just gettting ready to qualify at the Herriman Twlight Invite which is gonna be soo dope! racing at night is so fun.
WORD OF THE DAY: today's word is "smash" and I don't know how to do this the impressive way but if you want to see it, go watch the NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs! It is so dope! I just watched the Islanders vs Capitals game and wow it was crazy

| | am- with the start of tappering for region and state, we are going 20 minutes this week and the next couple weeks too! Really chill and I felt real good actually.
pm- Today was the Kosmin Test and it was so beast! I was a meter off from getting a whole lap in the first 60 secs. Then I got in front of Alex the next 60 secs and the last couple tried to get closer to Preston and Andrew. I got a little closer and ended with 1501 meters! That was 50 meters better than last time. So happy. Then we did a 300, 200, and 100 meter sprints and my times were 44.5 , 28.5, and 12.9! Heck to the yes! I am so ready to go race my heart out and get state qualifying @ Herriman Twlight this friday. Great day and great running:)
WORD OF THE DAY: well now that I have gained so much knowledge and have been asked why my nickname is Definition Dallen when I don't know the meaning, I will give words that I know. Today's word is "birthday" because Connor Baller's birthday and he is a beast so you all should look him up on this blog. Birthday means: the anniversary of the birth of a person out of the womb of your mother!

| | am- the regular route to Arby's with our 20 minute runs! I found a penny! heck to the yes. It's gonna go in my jar that will eventually pay for some running shoes.....eventually;)
pm- Went out to the JV meet at Canyon View. It was weird cause it wasn't cool weather... so weird. It is always chill weather! oh well, anywho we did a workout which was 4x60sec fartleks which was awesome! I loved it even tho I was tried from the Kosmin yesterday. Then we watched the 1600m and my freshman bud Carson Horsepool broke the 5 min barrier! So dope! He is now part of the freshman 5 club. But not the "freshman 5" cause that is different. And also Andrew was a beastly bull and ran into several peeps.
WORD OF THE DAY: well todays word is "butthurt" because that is what I felt when my ice cream fell off my ice cream cone at the track meet. It means: to be overly annoyed or bothered by a perceived insult. Example in a sentence: Andrew was butthurt after he got a slap to the bottom.

| | am- nice easy morning run. My watch died half way through tho:/
pm- nice chill run out into Green Springs and back. Then we did striders and it was pretty good! Haha the girls were going super slow cause they started 5 minutes before us and we caught up to them a mile out. Wow. After the run we did the kids track meet thing and I was the lane 6 clicker and I won a lot of the races so that was cool.
WORD OF THE DAY: todays word is "hawt". Hawt is the slang term for hot, and usually is used to describe an attractive person. Ex: Dang that Alli Peterson girl is hawt!

pm- today was 1x1000@ racing, then 300, 200, 100 sprints. The 1000 was okay, I kinda sat back til 300m left and then sprinted in and finished 2nd. then I redeemed myself on the sprints with a 44 for the 300, a 28 for the 200, and a 13 for the 100. Solid workout today and I felt aiight.

I found this super cool hide-out and so Skylar and Andrew and I checked it out so the rest of the run we ran on our own. Got back and did 4x200s and then it was the youngsters track meet. I wish I coulda ran it cause they got dope medals.

| | am- Nice chill morning. After the run my momma trimmed up my hair all nice!
pm- I went over to the region meet and ran with the Warbeast and Math-Addict Mitch and Andrew joined us too. Great to be able to just go do a chill run. Got some grass running in too so that was good. Some great races from everybody with the 1600m. Thats all I watched before I left to my house.
WORD OF THE DAY: from his amazing 1600m race, today's word is "abel". Now you may be thinking that I spelled that word wrong, but my brotha from another motha Skylar Abel was a beast today and ran a 4:35, which is a PR. He does not have a blog but he is still a beast.

Region 9 Championships (1.988 Miles) 00:10:03, Place overall: 4 | | am- nice easy stuff. Im ready for today's race! super pumped.
pm- YES!!!! I am sooo happy right now. So the meet got delayed cause of lightning and i started thinking wow this is gonna be a long day. But then 20 minutes later we were out and warming up to race. I ate a sandwich during the wait which will be back later in this entry. So we get out there and I am now pumped again to race. Bang! and we were off. I made sure that I would not go out crazy cause I would fall off. Instead I stayed right behind Eric, Josh, Spencer and Preston. So the first mile went by and we were at 4:53! Oh yeah I was feeling it and I knew it. So at this point I was thinking I would just qualify by time not place, and so I really was pushing hard to be on pace. I made sure that I wouldn't fall off hardcore like I have always. But then I started hurting bad on the 7th and my sandwich was wanting to come back up for some fresh air so somethin?! haha that's when Mckaid form CV passed me fast. But I went after him and thats when I realized that I was gonna have to qualify by place cause my 7th lap was soo slow. And then God gave me a pretty great gift: Eric was falling off hard core! I passed him and then Coach was like "you cant let him beat you!" and I went nuts. I was gone like a mad man and finished 4th. Last spot for state. Wow I was just so overwhelmed with happiness and relief, it was like a words can't explain moment. So now it is all in for state. I am glad I have this opportunity to race so I gotta give it all.

Saucony Kinvara 5 (teal) Miles: 6.00 |
|
| | pm- Today Coach just said to get in a 30-45 minute run so my bro Devo and I went down to the Virgin and looped up on 2450 east and it was a great run. Saw like usual weird stuff ya see at the Virgin on a Saturday afternoon....yeah. Wow great weather tho it is so beautiful, I am lovin' the rain instead of the heat. its great!
WORD OF THE DAY: today's word is "mowing" cause that is what I saw at the Virgin and that is what I did three times today... but what I did was a different mowin' then the peeps at the Virgin. Mowin' means to be in the act of mow, which is to cut down with a machine. Ex: Definition Dallen was mowing his lawn today.

| | pm- so today was a nice day. we had 4x400's at goal race pace. So it was Alex, Preston, Andrew, Nick and I running it together. The first was right on what we wanted: a 1:13. Then the second was quicker than we were supposed to: 1:10. And then we did it again: a 1:10. And the last one felt just like the second and third besides the push at the end but turned out to be a 1:05! So that was pretty kewl. We did it in our spikes and yeah. A nice chill day and my lil' sister came wid the youngsters so I am pretty proud of her!
WORD OF THE DAY: today's word is "wind" because it was pretty windy today, I'm not gonna lie! Wind is a vibration of air and known for its lameness when running into it in a track workout or race.... espeacially a race actually! Ex: A cold gust of wind ripped brittle brown leaves from the limbs of old oak tree, tossing them carelessly in front of the headstone below.

| | pm- today we did some good ol' Master-blasters and they were great! I really have been working hard on my crappy form, and it has been good. I really have a slow turn-over so I have tried to just pick up my feet right when I hit the ground and it was good. And our team of Jacey, J-word Jason and I won the Master-Blasters so that was pretty great. then we all put the hurdles and high jump and everything away in the dungeon. Wow it is so crazy that this year is over, kinda sad. I have had a blast this sophmore year but its time to move onto the next year. Cross Country is why I am happy this year is ended, but thats prolly it.
WORD OF THE DAY: today's word is kind of a mind blowing word if you think about it in a crazy way, and the word is "time". Time is the continuing process of exsistance throughout past, present, and future. Time has no beginning and no end. Ex: I learned about time in Physics this year and that is one of the many things that just blew up my mind.

| | pm- today we did a the usual shoe run and it was awesome. I felt a lil' sore today but nothing serious. Anywho, after the run, we did a 300, 200, and 100 meter sprints with spikes on. I did good, the 300 was 44sec, the 200 was probs a 28, and the 100 was 13ish. I didnt have a watch so I didn't know my other sprint times. Solid day. Wow I feel relieved but stressed out at the same time? I guess I'm just realizing that the year is over and I have had a hard time with some friends at school. I hate drama. Okay thats what I gotta say, I wanna go to bed.
WORD OF THE DAY: todays word is "sleep" because I need some of it. Sleep is the condition of resting the mind, soul, and physical well beings! Ex: I want to go sleep with a sheep on a steep..... okay thats all.

UHSAA State Track 3A 3200m (1.988 Miles) 00:10:15, Place overall: 13 | | am- So this is it for the season. Wow the weather couldn't have been worse... okay jk it coulda been worse so I guess I will be thankful. But it was super cold. We warmed up on the Ted Bundy Trail. Got back and Preston and I were just trying to keep warm. Watched AA win the 5A and after Preston and I went over to the bathrooms before we had to go in the tent thing. On our way tho we ran into AA and wow she is a cutie!! Dang too bad she's already taken. Anywho we get to the start and were off. I got a decent start. The race went good for the first 3 laps and then I guess I lost focus for a couple laps and after I was just trying to get back in the pack. I didn't get um but I did pass a Park City dude at the end which made me really happy!
So the race didn't go as well but I was glad that I got to have that experience. I am happy that I was able to come back from a rough start. Well see ya all in June!

| | pm- 3.87 miles/ 30 min E. Well I came to practice but Coach had to talk for a while to the new dudes and girls so I wasnt able to run cause Alli and I had to leave for Drivers ED. Which was actually HORRIBLE!!!! I wanted to die. And I got that wish when I ran in the heat of the afternoon at 2pm. I, no joke, almost passed out at the Maverick by the bridge cause it was so hot and I haven't really hydrated that well. So thats how today went. I was really feeling the soreness in my legs.
WORD OF THE DAY: today's word is "rap" because my older sister and brothers and I just made this rap for her friend and it was so dope! Rap is to talk in a rhythmic manner and making it sound smooth at the same time; also do not get mixed up and think that rap is a genre of music. Totally different. Ex: I went to the store and they had a rap on the radio.

| | am-Oh what a great run today. I felt way better than yesterday. I drank a lot of water yesterday afternoon and also I just felt better altogether. Had to once again run by myself cause of drivers ed.
WORD OF THE DAY: todays word is "simulator" because that is what I did today in Driver's Ed and it was quite the thing to do. The things are super old and so the seats are crappy. My butt hurt so bad afterward. Anywho, a Simulator is a thing that is a realistic experience to what you are preparing for. Ex: In the Driver's Education class, you have to do 4 hours of simulators and get an 80% average to pass.

WORD OF THE DAY: today's word is "splash" cause that's what I just saw tonight watching the Warriors vs Cavs game! Curry and Thompson are amazing! Wow how bout that defense by Andre Iguodala on Lebron! Man that guy is a beast. Splash means to cause a sound in a liquid, or in this case, the net! Ex: I was just seeing splash from the Warriors in the final stretch!

| | am- 6.62 miles/ 50 min @Dirt Mile repeats w/pace drop each mile. Today went pretty swell. So we went up to the Dirt mile and did a pace drop thing. We were supposed to start the first mile at 7:00 but we were going slow at first; so it was 7:20. The next one was 6:40, then 6:30, then 6:15 and then we did a 1000m cause thats all the time we had left. I lead with Andrew and Skylar but they both fell off but Jake came up and so Jake and I ran together for the last mile and a half or a little more. I really felt great! My left knee on the outside was hurting from the third mile and on but not enough to make me slow down. Great run today and I'm excited for a week-ful of workouts and runs with the team!
WORD OF THE DAY: today's word is "defense" cause Coach Holt said there is no defense in running. And its also because the Cavs played some beast defense. Defense means to stop something or someone from accomplishing. Ex: The Cavs played good defense which helped them win game 2 of the NBA Finals.

I am excited to see what happens coming to the start of the season cause I feel just like last year. And that feeling is fresh, confident, and ready to push myself! We did grass run today and it was nice. Preston told us about his birthday yesterday and what went down;) After running we had kids club and I was with the 7th-8th grade boys and they were a little dumb at first but then it was fun. We played ultimate frisbee but to score the goal was a soccer goal that you threw the frisbee into. Super fun! And that was it.

Great run though, the intervals were at 6:00 pace. I definitely felt some lag from the run yesterday but it was still a good run. The xc girls drove by coming back from the relay thing they did so that was cool.
Dream mile was super awesome!! I was betting on Mikey to be a underdog winner and he was soo close! What a beast goin after it. And the girls race was pretty decent too.
WORD OF THE DAY: today's word is "ecstatic" because that is what adjective Andrew Nielsen used to describe his feelings about the coming cross country season. Ecstatic means to be like so overly excited about something it is almost exploding the person containing it. Ex: Andrew said, "I am just exstatic for cross country this year!"
RHR- I forgot to do this

| | am- 9.7 miles/ 80 min with a pick-up finish. Today was a beast run. We ran out to the Dino Tracks trail but then went on a different fork and ran up the Sand Hill and it was super hard. And all the sand in my shoes was really annoying going up. Then coming back down it was the best cause I just would try to kick my feet as far forward and the sand would absorb my landing. I felt like a giant bounding down a hill! Looped back and got some weird tasting water at the fire station and then finished hard coming back. Great run and hard too.
Rolled and stretched.
WORD OF THE DAY: todays word is "Kinvara" cause I love those shoes and I'm gonna get another pair cause they are so awesome. Kinvara is a Irish word that translates to "head of the sea" and is also a sea port village in Ireland. Ex: I went to Kinvara in my kinvaras and it was mind-blowing!

I felt great with todays. I did feel a little hurt in the stomach because I was hungry. I seem to always want to eat.... wow I am a fatty.
WORD OF THE DAY: my word for this fine day is "parrot" because I just saw some sick BOA running shorts that has parrots all over them. I have a pic of it in this entry in fact! A Parrot is a species of bird and has a curved beak and can talk to you in a funny voice. Ex: My friend Seth Heinrich has a parrot and it is freakin' beastly.

Anyhow, the run today was out to the tortoise trail and Corbin lead us around. Great run and great morning. Came back and did striders and left. Just a real chill day.
I also stretched out, did some 100 ups, and ice bathed and it was nice.
WORD OF THE DAY: todays word is "vitamin" because I need to start taking those to keep myself healthy. A vitamin is a compound of nutrients that is needed by a living thing and given in little pills. Ex: My favorite vitamin is the gummy vitamin C ones because they are delicious.

| | am- 10 miles/ 87 min E with strong finish and striders afterward. Today was a good run out to the Mustang Pass and around town. I felt really tired at first but then I felt good. Great finish since our pace was super slow. I didnt have a watch to see but Coach said it was slow. Then striders after to round up a great day.
Did some rollin and 100ups and some mental stuff from Coach Rob's binder pages.
WORD OF THE DAY: today's word is "homework" because sadly I still have it since I'm taking Health online so I have room in my schedule to take a business class. Homework is the stuff that students get that is done at about 24 hours or less of the time it is supposed to be turned in.... or two weeks after:) Ex: I don't paticularly like homework.

| | am- 4 miles/ 30 min E grass. Today was a nice recovery day on the grass. I felt really good and yeah. Really chill day. Then kids club today was the first race! I ran with Caleb Atkinson and he is gonna be a good runner in high school, thats for sure. He has got talent. He was second and Scottie won and set a new record, beating the last one by 12 seconds!

| | am- 9.75 miles/ 60 min pace pick-up thing with striders. Wow I felt really crappy today. I didnt get like any sleep last night so I was exhausted. I stayed with the group but I was just sluggish. Striders after kinda felt good though. I am goin to nap now.

| | am- 6.75 miles/ 45 min E. Little sleep again, but I felt better than yesterday. We ran out to Middleton with a big group of guys. It was cool. Even though a few guys were gone, our younger dudes came with and stuck in there. Solid day.
WORD OF THE DAY: todays word is "mouse" because I found a dead mouse in my dogs water bowl. Nasty. I got it taken care off, and then I set a few traps. Then I found the mouse hole (by the way, this is like the 6th time it has happened! My poor dog) and I had a briliant idea: pour gasoline down the hole and light it on fire! And thats what I did. So hopefully no mice come out anymore:) A mouse is a small rodent that is nasty and carries deceases and stuff. Ex: I killed a mouse once... and I have killed many after that.

| | am- 6.9 miles/ 65 min E. Chuckwala!! I love this trail, it is so adventurous. We went out to the cave and back. Super fun run but my legs are a little sore though.
WORD OF THE DAY: the word of the day is "hot" cause it is freakin' 112 degrees today!! I was just standing outside with my dog and I was sweating bad. Hot means to have excess heat in temperature and yeah. Ex: It gets hot in my house when my mom turns the thermostat to 77!

| | am- 5.8 miles/ 45 min with 4x3:00 min faster pace intervals with equal recovery. Met up with Mitch, Andrew, Skylar and Jason at Panorama and ran down on the river trail. It was a solid run. The fartlek type intervals were quick but that is just fine cause it felt good to get some quick stuff in the week of running! Had a scary moment when after the run stretching, I didn't notice that I sat right in a spot of grass infested with ants. Thankfully I didn't even get bit, cause that would have been no fun.
WORD OF THE DAY: todays word is "mental" because I am starting to realize how important this is with running. Like being mentally ready is better than physically once your at a certain point. Mental is adjective that describes or is about the mind. Ex: Having good mental health is key in many aspects of life.

| | Just to let you all know, I have been in Nauvoo for the last 3 weeks basically, and now I am back.
am- 8 miles/ 60 min E. I just did a long easy run to get my legs moving since I havent ran in a while. Felt really good actually. The run was mainly uphill on the way out, so coming back was a nice slow decline and I just tried to focus on my form. But yeah it felt good to be able to go running and know where I was going!
pm- 4 miles/ 30 min E. Back in St george and so I went for my afternoon run at 8:30ish before we starting opening presents for my b-day. Felt really good again. I saw Caroline and she offered me a otter-pop:) oh Caroline, you are my fav. Good run though, and it is great to be back home. I really miss my friends I made at Nauvoo though. I will never forget those guys.

| | am- 9.75 miles/ 60 min increase pace @ dirt mile w/ striders. Good run, I was suprised at how well I did. I knew that I would probably struggle so I tried to stick myself in the front but not leading unless coach said to. I did end up leading one lap and then I just stuck right behind the leaders the rest. The end of the 5th mile and last half-mile I was really hurting, but I just thought to stick right on Nick and Paul who were leading, and that did the trick. Wow it really helps to have teammates to trust in and rely on to push on. I am soo glad to be back with everybody. Im excited to get back and going and push myself to the limit and fully commit to a great season.
pm- 3.9 miles/ 30 min E. Nice run around the neighborhood and looped it back to get my dog Oreo to run the last 10 minutes.

pm- 3.9 miles/ 30 min E. team afternoon run starting at the high school and went out to the outlets of zion and back. Weights after and that felt awesome. I spilled red gatorade on my white shirt which was a bummer. oh well.

I didnt get very much sleep last night so I felt sluggish. On the warm-up my knee was hurting a little but nothing major. The race starts and I just get out in the front of our group. The first mile was chill and we were just moving our pack up past the Hurricane xc dudes who started out way to fast. Then the second mile I was struggling but I stuck in there. The third I fell back a couple meters and then Mitch and Paul went ahead and me and Jason worked together but he wouldnt let me get ahead of him. So he finish in front of me but Paul dropped off for some duties that needed some immediate attention;) Good race and I am super proud of Mitch who really beasted today! He got a nice PR and great race. I also got a PR but it was only 2 seconds. But hey better than nothin'.

I did get a little tired at about 75-83 minutes but then I tired to focus on my form and that helped me forget about the pain. Great run and freakin Carson is a beast!! that guy is gonna be tearin' it up this xc season!
pm- 3.5 miles/ 30 min E. Easy run out past the lake and Carson, Corbin, Logan, Tanner and I saw a dead deer. It was gnarly. And the run ended at the lake so we hopped in and it was really nice.

| | am- 8.35 miles/ 65 min long hills. Wow what a run today was. So today was the long hill run where we run up and up and up the road. Coach was happy with us cause we had 10 people go farther than where Nick did last year. So that was kewl. I was right up in the front with Nick, Preston and Alex til 32 minutes but I didnt fall off far, just 15-20 meters. Good run but I am really tired now.
pm- 5.5 miles/ 43 min E. So the afternoon run was at a lookout and the boys ran further up the road which ended up taking us to the top of the mountain. And so we basically did another hill run. But it was all worth it because at the top and when we needed to flip around, there was a huge radio tower. And yes it had a ladder. and yes we did climb up it to the first cat walk. And yes we left a camp shirt up there. It was legit. Scary but legit.

| | am- .5 mile warm-up, 8.7 miles/ 70 min E with striders. The best trail run ever was today!! We did none other than Prospector:) best ever. I am pretty butthurt about that. Oh well some day those kids well learn a lesson about wasting their time with baseball...
pm- 3.92 miles/ 30 min E. Afternoon run with the team and it was freakin hot. Got back and did weights and I accomplished my goal of 25's on each side!!! Heck to the yes!

PV Time Trial #1 @ region south course (2 Miles) 00:10:50, Place overall: 3 | | am- .5 mile warm-up, 6 miles/ 50 min PVXC Time Trial warm/cool and then 4xhill loops and striders. What a day! So today was the time trial and it was awesome! So we wanted to pack it and push together which worked well! Preston lead the first mile and Andrew was leading-ish the first half of the second. Paul surged out a little but came back and then me and Nick surged ahead cause Andrew seemed to be struggling. And that is when Nick and I took off. We were goin and then Nick pulled ahead. I was pushing hard to go after him and then I did the unthinkable! I barfed and it was nasty. And then 200 meters later I barfed again but worse and thats when Skylar passed me and I held to my spot from there. Good race though and great effort as a team. We had 10 guys in the span of 23 seconds so that was kewl.
pm- 3.82 miles/ 30 min E. My bro Devo and I drove to the Green Springs park and ran Mustang Pass and it was really nice weather!! I love how it has been cloudy a lot. It keeps the heat off a lil' bit;)

pm- 3.85 miles/ 30 min E. Wow the cloudy-ness has made like a humid effect and I don't like it. It reminds me of the humidity in Nauvoo... wow that was way worst there though! pm- 4 miles/ 30 min E. We stoppped on the way up to BrianHead at the Navajo Lake and ran around up there. It was really pretty and amazing weather. The downpour of rain stopped right when we were about to run which was nice. After the run we jumped into the lake.... wow that was cold but refreshing at the same time.

| | am- 9.5 miles/ 75 min with 20 min tempo finish. Wow todays run was probably the best ever! So we drove to this road and just started running up the BrianHead mountain! we got to this trail which we thought would go up the peak.... but it just rapped around the mountain and ended in front of the peak. So we did what no one would ever do(jk but very few)! We climbed up the steepest part of the peak:) yeah that was sketchy cause I had a double-watermelon-sized rock that went out from underneath me and I slid down the mountain for a couple feet but I just got a couple dime-sized cuts. The top was legit but freakin' cold! we then ran down and went on another trail going the opposite direction and then did the tempo coming back. We were goin' pretty quick but it suprisingly felt really good. Thanks to Preston for letting us stay at his family cabin. it was beast
WORD OF THE DAY: today's word is "revive" because I haven't done my work of the day for like 2 months! shame on me. Revive means to bring back to life! Ex: I would never want to revive Al Capone cause he was just too much of a beast!

Cedar All-comers 2015 (3 Miles) 00:16:05, Place overall: 9 | | am- 4 miles/ 30 min E grass run barefoot. Wow so Coach was not very happy today but that is very understandable. Like almost the whole team had not done the registration and payed the fees. So we did our run without him and it was a little awkward cause we were all pretty chastened, I just i would say. I wasnt on the list to race so that is not good.
pm- 8.1 miles/ 55 min; Cedar All-comers with warm/cool and striders (.5 uphill, .5 downhill). What a day. Played some beast Sepa and then got joggin' around to warmup. We were trying to focus on packing it up. Well it is a good thing we were practicing cause it didnt go super well. It was good but the fact that All-comers races have lots of runners who dont even know what they are doing, didn't help us cause they got in the way. I got out good and was supposed to lead the first lap but with everybody behind me trying to get out of being stuck, it was kinda like a "what-ev" lap. The second lap was decent but everybody was getting tired from putting in a lot of effort to get around so they were falling off. So Nick took off after asking Coach if he could and I wanted to go with. So I did! And it was really good. The pain was definitely there, but it was good to get use to pushing hard and getting up in the top spots even though we really just snuck in at the very end. Fun time and I am pretty happy with how it went:)

| | am- 6.7 miles/ 50 min, Long hill/old man hill workout. Wow I was pretty tired from the race yesterday so the workout was a little tough. I had a hard time pushing so I just sat in the pack. we ended up doing 4 reps of the hills and the second half I noticed that Skylar was struggling a little bit and so I would tell him to keep pushing and that actually helped me in return. Cause when I would tell him, he would speed up and get a little ahead of the pack, which would make me surge a lil'. And the process would repeat. It was fun! And so that kept the thought of being sluggish off my mind and to stay focused on how I could make the workout better. Did some weights after the run and that went good. Got my locker in our locker room today too.
pm- 4 miles/ 30 min E. I was able to make it to practice cause I snuck out of the HOPE squad training meeting, but it was okay cause they were just finishing. Nice run, and I got really sweaty and smelly:)

I ran down to the virgin river trail and did some solid pace stuff. I really worked hard on keeping my form solid when I was feeling sluggish. I thought of the Cedar all-comers when Nick pulled ahead of me on the last lap and then imagined me checking my form and keeping it together and going with him. It worked pretty well. My paces for the hard repeat things were 5:56min pace, 5:57min pace, 5:58min pace, 5:39min pace, and finished with 6:00min pace. It was fun. Now I will go to bed.

pm- 7 miles/ 55 min Desert Relays. Warm/cool and 3x4min repeats with 4 min rec. Todays race was pretty good. So Nick and Mitch didn't have very good races cause they seem to be exhausted from yesterdays long run.... I wouldn't have felt good but I got a vitamin thing from my bro Danny and it saved my body. Such good stuff! Anywho, the when it got to me on the relay(i was last/third), we were in fifth behind two dhills teams and the B and C teams of PV. So I booked it after our teams. I passed Skylar on the way down and got right behind Jason. But then 300 left Skylar and Jason used their beast sprinting skills and so I just tried my best to go after them. I actually had a really awesome finish. And then the workout after was real chill, not really hard at all. Good day

SUU Invite (3 Miles) 00:16:26, Place overall: 9 | | am- 8.5 miles/ SUU Invite, warm cool and striders (1/2 uphill, 1/2 downhill). Great day for running in Cedar, thats for sure! I was really feeling pretty nice and health and ready to go. The race starts and I got out and over to make room for our team and we got out great. Going up the loop and back down we sat on the back of the line of the top 10 dudes. We waited way to long to pass Boston so everybody seem to fall off again. So Nick and I just surged on and passed Boston, and then the last lap Nick surged ahead but I stayed pretty close. I got in front of Bryson at about 200 meters before the top of the park? Somethin like that. Then on the finish straight-away he got me. I coulda passed him back but my bananas were starting to come up and so I was balancing the elements;) Great race, and lots of fun! I gotta shirt so I was happy.
WORD OF THE DAY: the word is "reading" because that is all I am gonna be doing this year. I got 4 classes which require me to read everyday so it is gonna be a tough year. Reading is the process of intaking information through text using your eyeballs. Ex: I was reading all night to be ready for the first AP psychology test the next day.
Goals for next week: Stay healthy by taking my vitamins and stuff, get at least 8 hours of sleep a night, stay on top of my reading homework for APUSH and AP psych, and most importantly, have fun and find "joy in the journey".

Anywho, todays run was a toughy, but good for my body in the long run.... hehehe get it? hehe alright so we did the usual run out across the bridge and to treasure park and back. Tons better than last time weather wise! And something awesome happened today..... I found a super nice water bottle on the side of the road, so I obiviously snagged it and now have cleaned it out to be used tomorrow! That just made my day. The fartleks were tough cause my legs were sore, but it was good. Did some weights after and that was awesome cause I matched my reps record and I also did some dips which I didn't even know I could do them! Oh and I check my weight and I lost 3 pounds.... idk if that is a good thing or not. oh well
WORD OF THE DAY: today's word is "bottle" because of the beast water-bottle that I found. A Bottle is a container which holds liquids. Ex: When I was a baby, I drank from a bottle.

| | am- 4 miles/ 30 min E. Good morning, and Andrew was struggling even though we were already going slow
pm- 3.85 miles/ 30 min E. Oh the weather today was definitely sent from heaven!! So awesome to have cloud cover for the first time in like 3 weeks? idk it has been so long. We ran through the neighborhoods and looped it over by the middle schoolhouse and back through some more stuff. I found a shopping cart and I was pushing it back to the high school since we were just down the street but I got tired so I just left it for the level 2 guys who pushed it a lil' farther and then they left it. Wow oh well. Great day and I am still loving life! Things are goin well with this bae in my grade. We will see where that goes
WORD OF THE DAY: the word on the street today is gotta be "pass" cause that is what happened when I took my first test in Coach Holt's APUSH class. Oh yeah!! To pass is the act of going beyond a certain mark. Ex: I hope I pass the next few tests in Language Arts or I will get kicked out of honors (true story).

PV Time Trial #2 @ region south course (2 Miles) 00:10:28, Place overall: 1 | | am- 4 miles/ 30 min E. Good morning, and the discussion on "if i can do it, it will happen" was goin. Wow it was really intense. I say we should all join debate after that!
pm- 7.25 miles/ 55 min Time Trial with 2x800s @race pace with 3 min rec. Great race for the team and I! So the humidity was a little more than usual and the temp was a lil' lower. The race gets going and it is just pack and rotate leads. We did really well. I felt great so the last lap coming back up the park, Nick was starting to pull ahead so I went after him and that brought the whole pack in. Then on the hill right by the parking lot I pushed real good cause that was where Nick left me in the dust last time. And this time I came out in front and then I just took off and held off Andrew and won it. My time was 10:28.04 which was a 22 second PR and our 1-5 split was 8 seconds. Pretty cool stuff today and I am just getting excited for Herriman to see what we can do against the 5A teams there. Oh and the workout after went good too.
WORD OF THE DAY: "bye" because I gotta go to sleep. Bye is a parting or farewell word. Ex: Bye.

pm- 3.8 miles/ 30 min E barefoot grass-run with weights afterward. Grass run at Sandstone. The girls found a foam football and the freshy guys stole it so the whole time we were running it was a battle for the ball. The guys obviously won, just before the time ran out. So beast. Weights after was good, I got a scare from doing squats for the first time in a while when after my hip flexer was feeling way tight and I was hurting bad.

We changed it up a lil' and went into Washington and looped through the new development and then to the top of green springs and over to the rich dudes. The huge house up on the top of Green Springs has a name!! Its name is Bramasole. So sick I think I will name my first-born son..... hopefully I have a son.... or get married..... Anywho, the farkleks were good and the run was actually real nice. Weights after went good and I am feeling pretty fine.

pm- 8 miles/ 60 min 1600, 1200, 1000, 800, 400 meter @ race pace w/ 3 min rec. So the Dixie Allcomers race was today so the varsity boys and girls ran the workout at 4. On my way over I was listening to "The eye of the Tiger" and it was freakin' awesome. Anywho, the workout went pretty well today, at least individually. As a varsity it wasn't the prettiest but we did run 12.1 miles yesterday so that is that. But yeah, the workout went well. After we made a sick cheer for the race and also played 4-square and it was kewl. And the ball went bouncing over to Laynee Wells and so I went over to get it and we spoke a few words and then she did a kewl trick and yeah. She is pretty and kewl so I'm thinking that I should go strawberry emoji with that;)
WORD OF THE DAY: the word is "absolve" because the big man Pope Francis came out and said that the priests can forgive the "sin of abortion" during the Holy Year. Absolve means to clear out or erase from recognition. Ex: I don't need to absolve the "sin of abortion" because I can't even produce babies in me!!

pm- 3.85 miles/ 30 min E barefoot grassrun. Chill run at Sandstone elementary. We talked about me being a human sacrifice for the team. If ya want to know more, contact Nick Hill, he has all the specifics.
WORD OF THE DAY: today the word is "scarred" because that is what happened to me when I was walking to seminary today. I was about to walk passed this girl and then like this other came over and got in front of me. I was about to say something like "hey watch out" but then the two girls like kissed right in front of me!! PDA!!! Wow so gross. Scarred is the past tense of scar, whichh is to leave a mark from a wound or burn. Ex: I was scarred after the thing that happened on my way to seminary.

We did the sand hill repeats and I felt a lot stronger than last week. I was able to push up with Nick and that was good. The heat was a little higher than usual but nothing like a few weeks ago. Anywho, the running is going great and I got date this weekend with Alli P so that is kewl. I talked with her after practice today about a thing that has been stressing me lately and that was nice to have someone to talk to. So thanks Al-bal
WORD OF THE DAY: today's word of the day is "utes" cause they had a beast game today against Michigan and won 24-17. Utes is a term used for the indian tribe that populated most of the area covered in present day Utah and Colorado. Ex: I learned about the utes in like 4th grade.... I think.

| | am- 12 miles/ 90 min with 2x(1,2,1 min farkleks with 4 min rec). SICKEST RUN EVER!!!! So Mitch, Andrew, Braden and I met at the roundabout for the prospector trail and then dropped off a car at the end of the trail in Red Cliffs Reserve AND yes!!!!! We ran the whole Prospector trail!!!! Oh my gosh, best thing ever. I felt sooo good and just let myself enjoy the amazing weather of St. George this morning at 7am. Wow, seriously my favorite run ever. Hands down. Solid run and Braden did a pretty decent job of goin with us on most of the fartleks so props to that guy! After the run we were stretching and this dude like floors it in reverse just to come back the road and tell us he saw his first rattlesnake this morning. Hahaha oh man it just cracked me up!
WORD OF THE DAY: today's word is "temple" cause yesterday I walked around it with some buddies and this very attractive senior girl and cheer captain Sara Hancock asked me for my number!! Wow that was pretty awesome. The Temple is most holy place and building/structure on the face of this earth. And it is also the sides of your forehead where your optic nerves connect your eyeballs to your brain! Ex: My brother lost a 1/4 of his sight in his left eye cause he got hit in the temple by Andrew's dad when they were playing Ultimate Frisbee.

pm- 8.6 miles/ 60 min, Time Trial warm/cool and then 2x800s w/ 3min rec. What a day!! I going to homecoming, I danced with this very attractive girl in my social dance(btw, she is not the only attractive one though!), I got challenged to eat a jalapeño from a special needs kid(his name is Colton and he is such an awesome kid), and I went and raced a great race at the time trial. The weather was definitely not as good as the last time trial, but it was still good. The race was definitely different though. This time it was really just me and Nick leading the whole race which was a bummer that we didn't get a rotation going with everybody but the team seemed to be a lil' tired. Anywho, the last lap coming back up, Nick breaks away when we were starting to come back up. I caught back up but on the hill at 500 left he broke away. I had a strong finish and kept Skylar off. hehehe Skylar! jk Skylar is a beast! I love that guy. after the workout was good and yeah.
WORD OF THE DAY: today's word is "Dad" cause it's my Dads birthday!! Wow I don't know if I am as close to anyone besides my dad. He is such a great guy. Dad is the father of the family and prosides over the family. Ex: I love my dad.

I was right behind him for the first mile and then him and the lead pack broke away and my stomach felt like it was getting sqeezed. I got passed by like 15 people during mile 2 and a half. Then Mitch passed me at like 600 meters left and yelled at me. We went up the hill and then with 300 meters left I just felt decent so I went for it. I passed almost all the dudes who passed me before and passed 5 dudes in the last 10 meters. It was so beast. Not the best overall race, but definitely my best finish and best start. Good learning experience and I'm looking forward to Nebo in a couple weeks.

| | am- 4 miles/ 30 min E. Good morning, and Skylar is all butthurt about some BYU stuff. Hahaha the poor guy is probably put out that BYU got ranked higher than Utah!
pm- 12.45 miles/ 85 min with 2x1,2,1min fartleks w/ 4 min rec. Striders and weights afterwards. What a day! It was a great long run out into Middleton and over to Dixie rock and back. I felt real sluggish and here is why! So at school today in AP Psychology, we watched a brain surgery. hooray except for the fact that I am a wimp and felt all quezzy. So after the video, Mrs. Martineau was like asking us what we learned and I raise my hand up to ask if I can go take a breather outside and she looks at me and is like "oh my gosh, you are going to pass out!" and then I am like trying to get out of my seat and I just go completely numb/limp and I start tipping over! So she and my good friend Zach caught me and then laid me down in the front of the room. And there I stayed for about 10 minutes. Fun huh? haha oh boy so then I go down to the office and into the health room and eat some thin mints and a Capri-sun to get sugar in me and then I started feeling better. But wow, what a scary thing! AND come to find out, I was the 4th person to pass out from that video:) And also Coach Roberts passed out on the run, and this sophmore passed out during PE today and an ambulance had to come! What a day. BUT on the good side, for being Athlete of the Month, I got a free 10 oz coupon to Yogurtland!!
WORD OF THE DAY: today's word is "third" cause that is what our PV girls got at Murray Cross Invite!! They are so fast and attractive. Third is when you come into a order/placing after two other participating parties. Ex: The Pine View girls got third to Davis and American Fork at the Murray Cross Invite.

pm- 8 miles/ 60 min; warm/cool, 3 sets (1000 I pace, 3 min rec, 600 R pace) w/ 5 mins between sets. What a workout!! So we met at the Bloomington park today and did a beast workout. It went real well actually! The times went as such: 3:27, 1:52, 3:25, 1:55(uphill), 3:18, 1:54(uphill). It was a real work, and my legs were kinda-ish spent which was good cause it forced me to work on going fast even though I was tired. Oh btw, the goal paces were 3:15-3:25 for the 1000's, and 1:45-1:55 for the 600's. Good day and no passing out or anything crazy like that;)
WORD OF THE DAY: todays term is "flash flood" because there has sadly been 16, possibly 20 deaths from the flash flood in Southern Utah from the heavy rains the last couple days. So everybody say your prays for those families affected because they would love that. A flash flood is a sudden flood after a heavy rain storm which can cause a lot of damage to it's path it takes/makes. Ex: There has been people who died in Zions and the city Hildale from the flash flood.

pm- 3.8 miles/ 30 min E barefoot grassrun. Nice run at Sandstone. Today was a pretty beast day at school. I learned about phantom pains in Psychology and wow, our minds are sooo powerful!
WORD OF THE DAY: todays word is "debate" because today was the Republican presidental debate and I want Rubio to win cause he has a legit last name. For real though. To debate is to have a arguement over a topic and two sides are choosen. Ex: I had a debate with Anna Baker at the Debate Club table during club rush and our topic was "Shorts or pants".

pm- 6.5 miles/ 55 min 2sets of 3x1min sand hills w/ 3 min rec between sets. Weights afterward. Oh what an awesome workout!! We did the sand hills and it was just amazing. So the rain kinda made the sand a little easier to run on so that was nice. And it was really kewl cause Nick, Andrew and I actually got all the way up the hill and started going down the other side!! And we did that for every single repeat! Wow it was just great. It was just great. And I'm glad my back didn't hurt cause that would have been a bummer. And after the run we had weights and that was good. I was finally able to bench 25lbs on each side and do that 3x5 so yeah.
WORD OF THE DAY: today's word is "integrity" because two good souls from Taylorsville High School found a wallet on the curb of the parking lot and it had $2,700 dollars in it, cash!! They returned it to the school office and the owner came and got it. Such good dudes. Integrity is the quality of being honest and morally righteous in all the person's actions. Ex: Don't steal from the store, have some integrity.

| | am- 8.6 miles/ Bicentennial Park Park workout - 1,2,3 min Goal Race Pace fartlek w/ 2 min recovery (3 sets). Today was probably one of the best days for me. So the varsities did the workout instead of the CV invite. The workout on the SUU/region course went really well. We were just 2or3 meters away from Nick in the farkleks compared to 15-20 last week. And there was a pack of 5 of us instead of me and Paul last week. Great run for us and wow!! Talk about Carson Horspool!! He is soooo fun to watch race and he did amazing! 3rd in the varsity race! And our JV guys who ran varsity today placed top 3 as a team. Freakin JV!! Ya gotta love that guy. And my boy Mikey, a freshy, beasted today in the varsity race as well!
WORD OF THE DAY: today's word is gonna be "interception" because so far, that is all UCLA's quarterback has been throwing!! Wow 3 interceptions in the first half. hehe wow. Interception is known as the act of a defensive football player to catch a pass from the offensive team, usually the quarterback. Ex: UCLA quarterback Josh Rosen has thrown 3 interceptions in the first half of the game against BYU.
Goals for next week: Stay healthy and take my vitamins, stay positive, enjoy life, find joy in the journey. Keep up with homework(especially reading for APUSH and AP psych and seminary)

So the goal time that Paul told me I should go for was 15:45. So the times I needed to hit was 5:05, 5:30, and 5:10. So the first was easy-ish cause it was the first but it was quick. The second was cheese. The last I really had to push the third lap in order to get right in there. But I was pretty close on all. I hit 5:07, 5:27, and 5:12. It was way hard for me to go from all out to the tempo pace. I actually got better at it the last few. And my 100's all out got faster throughout the whole thing so that was good. but yeah, it was a super hard workout. I hope I won''t be sore tomorrow.

Cedar Invitational 2015 (3 Miles) 00:15:33, Place overall: 6 | | am- 4 miles/ 30 min E. Good morning and today the temps dropped ten degrees so that was freakin' awesome!
pm- 6.8 miles/ Cedar Invite, 15 min warm/cool. Good race today. So we start and I just go out quick but not crazy like some did. I slid my way into 11th on the track. Then the second lap I put in surge's, especially at the start line to the top of that staightaway. I got into 7th coming into the last lap. I could see ahead of me Eric, Aidan, and Luke and the Springville kid. I cant remember his name. Anywho, Eric was falling off so I just went and snagged him and then tried to go after Aidan and Luke. They ended up 13ish seconds ahead of me, but I coulda had um if I had 400m more. Good race and it was cool to win as a team even when we didn't have Nick. So pumped for Region and State!

| | am- 7.77 miles/ 60 min E. So Mitch, Preston, Andrew, Jason, Carson, Logan, Corbin and I met up at 5:25 to go running because then Preston was doing the marathon aid station and everybody but me was helping and they were meeting at 6:30. So we ran up and up and up the bike trail going up Snow Canyon State Park. It was a lot of hill but that is okay I guess. The stars were sooo pretty and I was just in awe. Thinking about life and God's creations and the scary biker dude who was wearing a black hoodie going passed us and also about my love life and yeah. It was a good time to just think. I liked it. And yeah that was the run.
Goals for next week: 8 hours of sleep every night, get caught up in homework before Thursday, do my RHR, pray and read my scriptures, and remember to stretch. And do my APUSH reading.

| | pm- 8.66 miles/ 60 min E w/ striders. I'm back and running so that is good! It still kinda hurt to run, especially at 45 minutes, but it really was just nice to be running again. We ran the Parkway loop and the talk was agriculture, if ya know what I mean;) Good day and I'm excited for the workout tomorrow. Goal is to force myself to push on the floats rather than dying like last time.

pm- 7.2 miles/ 50 min total; 15 min tempo + 10x100m/100m (F/float) (15 warm and cool to time). Oh such a great workout today!! So we did the workout at the Region South course and Dhills just happened to be there too so that was that. The tempo was a little harder than last time but I did such a better job on the floats and worked with Paul on the 100/100s. It went really well though.

pm- 5.7 miles/ 46 min, Sunrise Hills 20s/10s (hard/recovery). What a workout!! So we did the sunrise hills and it was hard!! So the first couple sets were tough but I just had in mind that we would only do 4. And then we finished the 4th and coach was like "alright one more" and I was like "what the ____?"(i literally said nothing) but it was a great set and I lead everybody on that one since Nick had to sit out for his lightheaded-ness. Great run and great day!

That will be legit!
Goals for next week: Do my RHR, finish with a 4.0 GPA in 1st quarter, top 5 at region, win region as a team, and get into a habit of using a weekly calendar so I can be organized.

pm- 7 miles/ Region Championships, warm/cool. WOW. What a race for me personally and as a team. We were going into this thinkin' that we could make a huge move on D-hills, and we did. Coulda been closer but that is another story. So the race starts and I just go right in with the Dhills pack and Nick and Mitch. We run a lap and a half and I was starting to fall off. But they were still close-ish. I got passed the second to last baseball field and this Cedar girl is there and yells "hey get those dhills guys!" And I look up and Sage, Spencer and Bryson were just 15-20 meters ahead and slowing down. So I surge by them all and started going for Nick. And coming back and passed the bathrooms I passed Nick and that is when my mind started blowing up! But I tried hard to stay focused and go after Jaiden cause he was only 30 meters ahead and slowing down. So I get a lil' closer and then Nick gets back with me and then he goes sprinting after Jaiden. I tried to go to but they are both sub 2:00 minute 800 dudes so that didn't work super well;) Great race though finishing 4th and we were only 16 points behind Dhills so that was good.
WORD OF THE DAY: "hurricane" because it is a gnarly storm and it is also the high school in our region that was the last team to qualify for state!! Dang my boy Kody Watts is goin' to state. What a guy. A hurricane is a tropical storm of high winds and occurs in the ocean and on coastal lands. Ex: My brother was serving a mission in DC when a hurricane almost came and hit him there!

pm- 6 miles/ State Championships, warm/cool. What a race. So the start was not very good because I was making sure that I wasn't gonna go crazy like last year. So right before the road section I see Mitch go down and that was bad. So then at the top of the hill Nick and I worked up to the lead pack and chilled right in there all the way to after the pond. Then Nick took the lead and I lost focus. But I stayed in my place from there. Like I never in the whole race had anyone pass me so that was good. And at the end I almost got Josh but I started my sprint too late. Good day though and I am super happy for Nick. Inspiration right there guys. Nick is my hero.

Today's workout was super beast. So the goal times for the 1000s was 3:17-20 range but the 400s were supposed to just be hard, but not sprinting. So the after the first 100m we had a 30sec recovery and then right into the middle section of the workout. The times for the first two 1000s were good, 3:21 and 3:19. Then the 400 was :65. The second set the 1000s were 3:19 and 3:16. Then the 400 was solid, a :63 and it actually felt pretty good. Then the 100 finish was good and that was the workout. Felt good to get movin' again. We got a 3-mile time trial on Monday to help decide who is running at Nike at we are doing it at the Dirt Mile so that will be freakin' dope!

I was a little nervous cause I am not the best at doing quicker, shorter stuff. But it went super duper awesome! I hit 1:10 and went from there down to 1:03 which is crazy since my 400m PR is 1:02. wow that is kinda embarrassing. Same as last week except for the hard core rain. Goal times were same as last, 3:17-20 on the 1000's and just a quick time for the 400's. The first was 3:20 and the rest were 14,15, or 16. pm- 5.5 miles/ 45 min, Master Blasters (8x200s in relay-type style). Great workout today. We had Master-Blasters today. I went to the bathroom right after the warmup so I wasnt on a quick team which was just fine. So I was doing catch-up on all but the last set of 2. The last set we had to make new teams cause some of the girls dropped out. So my new team was Skylar, Jason and I and we dominated!! We won by a good 3 seconds. That was also good cause then I got to experience trying to catch people like in the end of a race for the first few sets and the last set was practice for keeping a lead. Good day and yah.
DEFINITION OF THE DAY: Footbag- A small round bag filled with plastic pellets or other material and used in games that require its being kept aloft with the feet. This is in honor of me and Andrew going to the Mall after practice today and getting footbags aka hacky sacks AKA Sepa!! Such a beast thing to do 'yal, you should try it. DEFINITION OF THE DAY: Superstition- excessively credulous belief in and reverence for supernatural beings. Today's word is superstition because I have, for the second time, lost my hacky-sack a day after I purchased it. This time it was because Andrew kicked it onto the top of the school. Such a bummer but oh well, when gives ya lemons, make some lemonade. Or take it to Chick-fil-a and have them make it into some delicious lemonade!

I had never ran on that before so I went on that for a bit and then the trail disappeared! So I just cut through the desert and back over to the Grapevine Trail. When I got there, this dude was running and stopped and asked about what was ahead on the trail. He ended just going back with me. Turns out this guy was Dan Crooker, and he was a beast runner and still is!! It was cool talking to him about people he coached and also his running. Good day and yeah.

So it was the dream mile and I was wanting to go 4:30ish but the wind jacked that up. So I started with a 1:08 but I was tired from the wind and I kinda gave up for a couple laps. I went 1:20 and then 1:21. Then I was like "freak I am not gonna get 9th or even 10th on the team!" so I kicked it in and finished in a 1:06. Bad race but thats okay.

NXR-SW 2015 Championship Race (3.107 Miles) 00:16:07, Place overall: 97 | | am- alright warmed up and got ready to race. put in the gold spikes cause they were legit!.
Get to the starting line and the girl is singing the national anthem. Wow I started tearing up because I have been watching and running XC since 5th grade. I watched my brothers at this race and they were good. I just am soo thankful we got in as a team. I also was just thinking how great our country is and yeah. Wow so anywho, the race starts and I started decent but definitely could have been better. once we got to the opened up part going up to the first turn, Joe from AF came right next to me and like i went right behind him because the spot we were at was wide open. Then he took off, along with Mckay Johns and that is when I should gone with them, since I know it would have placed me in a great spot. so i chilled and came across the mile at like 4:58. Felt super cheese. Then i surged but so did the pack I was in. I felt like I was passing a lot of people but I really just stayed in the same place. I placed 1st on our team, which was good but bad. I know that I can improve a lot from this and so I am going for the win at Footlocker in my Junior race. Thats the goal. Peace out

Footlocker West Junior 1 Race (3.107 Miles) 00:16:55, Place overall: 3 | | am- Swell run today. So me and Mitch and Spencer warmed up and found a bathroom out in the boonies so that was nice! Got to the start line and had to wait for forever since the Junior girls were slow at the back end of the race. So then we finally start and me and Mitch get a decent start and after one loop we were at like 15th ish. We then moved up to the lead pack of 8 dudes and at the top of switch-backs, this dude broke away. That is when I shoulda gone with him!!! I woulda won!! Oh well. So he takes off and I chill with the 2nd and 3rd dudes til I realize that they arent going after him so I take off. Then the 2nd dude came with me and we worked together to get the guy but he had just created to much of a lead. So then I went after him on Reservoir hill but he was just too far ahead and then the one dude ended up out-kicking me with 200m left. I was happy with my 3rd place finish, but I now know what it takes to go after a goal and be real close. I am super excited for track season to get myself quicker and ready to breakthrough at XC next year. My goals for track are a sub-9:30 3200m and a sub 4:30 1600m. I know these are pretty far out there compared to my current PR's but I know that I can get them through hard work and "NO RAGRETS". Peace out
