Decided I need to start doing some good base building. 12 miles this morning in the rain. The 8.5 miles wthat I timed were at a 6:55 average pace. I have been doing too much running around 6:30 pace, when I should probably be slowing that down to around 6:45-7:00. 6:30 takes too much out of me.

PM: My walf wanted to go for a walk on the treadmill so I joined her and did 4 mire easy miles.

10 easy miles this afternoon. Yesterday's higher mileage left me feeling rather sore. Joints rather than muscles. I am having a rad time getting used to the cold. Finished the run with 6 strides of about 100 meters.

Today was the first snow run of the year. I love running in the snow. I love that feeling of the fresh snow crunching under the feet. I look forward to this first snow run all summer. Of course, I will be ready for the snow to go away soon.

AM: 4 miles in a few inches of new snow

PM: 8 miles on the treadmill at about 6:45 pace.

In the middle, ran the 3/4 of a mile to work bacause I was too lazy to scrape my windows. Or maybe every other day aI am lazy when I drive the short trip to work.

AM: 4 miles outside. It was the first day cold enough that I needed the ski mask. The pace was slow because I was sore/tired from yesterday, and the traction was really bad.

PM: more easy running

5 miles on the treadmill with 2 at my threshold pace of 5:45.  By the end of those 2 miles I was pretty tired. I have a long way to go.
