Easy miles in pleasantly cool (50F) fall weather.  The hunters out seeking to kill bambi....not so pleasant, at least not the ones that are driving up and down my road continuously and blasting away in the woods when I run by.  The minor head cold appears to be worsening ever so slightly and definitely lingering longer than I'd like.  Today is 2 weeks out from the marathon, so next week will be a modest reduction in mileage.  Maybe that'll help with this cold.

Goodness, be careful around those hunters! I have a friend who hikes a lot in the Cascades and has been shot at on 2 occasions! I think a lot of them are drinking too.

Take care of that cold. I'm just getting over mine. Not that you asked, but my cold strategy (other than the obvious liquids, rest and vit C) is lots of protein and no sugar. Works well if you can swing it.

I think I'll stick to the roads for a while....I'm afraid even wearing hunter orange I'd probably hear bullets whizzing by if I ventured out onto the trails.

I'm sure they are drinking, based on the huge increase in litter on the side of the road. And eating fast food quite a bit too.

Hmmm....protein I can do but no sugar? Unlike many on the blog, my dietary habits aren't quite so pure and I'm not sure I could swing that, especially with a fellow sweet-tooth in the house! Thanks for the tip though.

Stick to the roads Dale. If you do venture further out into the woods, make sure you're wearing blaze orange all over so they don't mistake you for a deer. Oh...there is nothing wrong with hunting bambi. She is quite tasty!
