St George has some great running trails, however, I don't know where any of them go or when they loop. Started out in Bloomington and ended up somewhere. I know one part of the trail said Mayor's Loop and I was by the convention center, other than that, it was a good early morning run. Warmed up with a slowish first mile and the started clicking. After a couple of miles I started moving and paced around 6:40. Figured I would just hold this pace as long as I could and I just Kept slowly rolling faster times down to around a 6:20 by mile 13 or so. Came through 13.1 at around a 1:27 which isn't too far off the marathon plan. Held strong all the way to the finish. 15.4/6:38 The run really felt good and it really surprised me. Every mile I was expecting to be steady or a bit slower, especially after mile 10, but I kept gaining speed. This was a confidence booster and lets me know that the training is slowly starting to pay off. This time of year I wish I could live in St George. Mornings are awesome and afternoons are great for swimming and playing with the kids.
