A pretty easy run this morning. There were three of us running this morning. Nice to have someone new. Randy and I aren't all that chatty, so it is nice to let someone else talk for  a while.

Weather was nice and cool and the run was great. I wanted to push it a little harder than we did, but it was a nice pace with good splits. Not sure what I'm going to do about tomorrow. Camping tonight. Maybe I'll have to do a really hot one in the afternoon.

So I took the kids camping and got back about noon. Then I got this crazy idea that maybe I could go running. So I did. It was 95 degrees when I left. Hot. I brought along a bottle, but didn't think to put ice in it, so by the time my run was half over I was drinking hot Gatorade. Yum.

But, it turned out to be a really good run. After starting out with an 8:13 pace in the first mile, I picked things up a bit and stayed under 8 the rest of the way. I felt a little funny afterward, but I lived.

Pushed it pretty good again this morning. Back to the standard MWF seven miler. I told Randy that I was under 8 yesterday, so I think he decided that if I did it yesterday I could do it again. Not much conversation this morning, just me trying to keep up. Felt really good though.

Really two runs today. I went out at 6 am and did seven miles. I kept my pace between 8:00and 8:30 for the first six miles and then kept it under 8 for the last mile. When I got home, the plan was to run three more with my daughter riding her bike beside me. But when I got there, she hadn't gotten up and wasn't really interested in getting up, so I took off on my own again, doing the same thing -- 8:15ish for three miles and 7:48 for the last mile.

Didn't stay under 8:00 this morning, but put in a good workout with the splits getting faster as I went along and was able to push the final mile to 7:40.

Not a bad long run on a beautiful Saturday morning. I tried to keep it steady, under 8:30. I held that pace until mile 11 when I started to fade into the 8:30s and 8:40s then gave it a final push to 8:12 in the final mile.

I ran from home down to the Greenbelt, along the river to Eagle and up Eagle Road. At Chinden, I had planned on cutting across towards Cloverdale and down through the neighborhoods I run on my MWF runs, but when I got to the Stinker station at Chinden I was already past 12 miles and only planned on going 15. So, since the shortest distance between two points is a straight line, I just kept running down Eagle towards home. It really wasn't too bad. It is a busy street, but has wide sholders and sidewalks.
