Ran to Rec Center in 12:00 (1.5mi) to run with Paul. We did the 6 mile Canal Loop with a slight detour. It was a nice run that alternated trails and roads. I liked the trails because, it seemed we were still in the city, but running on single-track. Anyway, after that, I ran home.

Good work. Good idea to do the circuit instead of Grand Slam. I would not recommend Grand Slam until you can comfortably run 90 miles a week, and have done it for a year. Sure, you can do it without such mileage, but not without a high chance of unpleasant consequences. The name Grand Slam is not a coincidence - grand slam on your muscles, joints, glycogen stores, immune system and who knows what else. You need to be ready.

I agree with you Sasha. I know I could do the Slam, but with too many risks and sacrifices. I want to do some shorter races too and I think the best way for me to get back into racing is with shorter races, building to 1-2 marathons a year. I think I will still do the Ogden and TOU next year if I can stay healthy.
