Ran a couple of easy miles on Dirt Roads by Work today. I wanted to test the foot carefully. I woke up with no pain today so I hoped for the best. I wore more supportive shoes to work and wore my older running shoes during the run(Nike Pegasus rather than my new ones (Asics GT-2110, as they might have been the problem). Every step I took during the run caused the arch to hurt. It wasn't real severe, but I felt mild discomfort. It didn't change in intensity during the run. After reading the comments from Nick and Andy, I agree with them that it is most likely not a Stress Fracture. I think it is some kind of a pulled tendon or ligament in that foot. I plan on taking it easy, and maybe take a few days off if it doesn't get better soon. I will wear better everyday shoes and see if there is improvement. I feel that it is better today than yesterday, but far from 100%. I will play tomorrows run by ear and see what happens. |
