Ran the Airport Loop with Dan. I was feeling a lot better today after taking a day off yesterday. However, half-way through my run, my left foot started to hurt. It hurt at the highest point in my arch. It is still tender to the touch and I have to walk with my weight on the outide of my foot for it not to hurt. It feels like it is bone but I am not sure. Today was the third day using my new pair of shoes, and I have been wearing a new pair of nicer shoes around work. I am hoping it is because my work shoes are not supportive enough as that is easy to fix. I REALLY hope it is nothing more serious like a stress fracture.

I am open to suggestions as to what to do to diagnose/treat it.

It looks like this just started on your run today, which shows that something very recently has occured. Since you've been running for a while with no trouble, I doubt that a stress fracture would occur instantaneously for no reason. My sister got a stress fracture from cross country a couple of months ago, but from the doctors diagnosis, it seemed like they typically take a few days (or week) to fully develop. Since your pain is so recent (today), I would guess that the shoes may have done you in.

Like Nick said, the onset of stress fractures is usually more gradual. Also, they are more common in the metatarsals and heels than the arch. It sounds like it is the shoes that is causing the problem.

Every running doctor has an opinion, so, I will give mine, it sounds like maybe the start of some faciitis problems. About 4 years ago my dress shoes did not have enough support and gave me a good dose of plantar faciities. I bought some NewBalance dress shoes with support and wore a medial boot at night to sleep in. It fixed the problem with about two weeks not running. I hope your problem is not this severe. Good luck. Best book I've seen on running injuries is the "Sports Medicine Bible". Great book for self diagnosis.
