PM: 5 slow miles on the Treadmill too soon after dinner.

I came down with a head cold today, but I dont think it affected me that much.

Warning, the following is PG rated....

In other news, I went to the doc today to discuss my diverticulitis I had last year and to discuss why I have the squirts so much lately too.  I get it pretty bad 2-3 times a week with it getting worse with stress or a difficult run.  The general theory is that since it is mostly running induced it could be something simple, like being dehydrated in the mornings before and during my runs causing my blood flow to drop and leave the intestines lacking.  A low thyroid could do this too.  I ran some blood work and hopefully that will tell us something when we get the results back.  Another theory is that I have IBS (irritable bowel syndrome) and that is causing the problem.  Some stool samples (yet to be taken) will rule out giardia or parasites or things like that.  Other theories needed further testing (read Colonoscopy) before diagnosing it.  I got some meds for the IBS so I can experiment with that to see what happens.  Tomorrow, I will try the hydration theory first.  Needless, to say, my runs have been eventful for a few months now (even since TOU) and its time to figure it out.  What a crappy deal....

Dont you love bowel issues? Ive been fighting mine for the past 2 years now. I lovingly refer to it as swamp a$$. I live on Imodium AD pills. Finally went to the doc last week about it. 1500 dollars in tests later and I know exactly what I knew before I went to the doctor. Nothing! Good stuff. Hopefully you get yours figured out. Good luck.

Sorry about the bad .....stuff guys. Running really doesn't help mine but I can't complain anymore after reading this. Get better- both of you.

Hope you continue to learn more. I had previously thought that IBS or IBD (Inflammitory Bowel Disease) could be possibilities, if divertilitis didn't hold up. I have a good cookbook specifically for IBS (and AS), and a couple other good cookbooks that address Crohn's and Ulcerative Colitis (IBD's). Many people experience relief by eliminating starch or by going on the Specific Carb Diet.

my occasional IBS symptoms completely disappeared when i stopped eating gluten. and saying that on a public forum was PG-13 rated for me.

Wow, Cody I haven't been keeping up with people's blog very good, but the day I come to read yours we have some interesting reading material. Hope things get better for you.

Consider that you could be slightly lactose intolerant made worse by hard exercise.

See, I told you it wasn't my cooking.

No new news today. How long does blood work take? Maybe I have HIV or something. Can I still eat junk food if I get that?

From Dale on Wed, Jan 27, 2010 at 00:18:14 from 69.10.215.11

Blood work only takes a couple of hours. Bureaucratic inertia in our health care system can take days.

Oooh, let's get this on the Hot Discussion Board. Or maybe I can post it on my blog with some kind of a picture.
