Easy run, sort of.

4:00 pm, 89° F, 14% humidity, wind 8 W.

I got up at 4 am this morning to get Thing 3 off to scout camp. I got home at about 4:45 and considered going out for a run, but went back to bed instead and didn't get up until about 7:30. At that point, it was too late to go for a run before work. So my penance is I had to run in the heat of the day. I thought about running during my daughter's softball practice from 6 to 7, but I worried what would happen if I didn't make it back in time. I also thought about waiting until this evening so that it would be a little cooler, but thunderstorms are forecast this evening, and I have other stuff I need to do tonight. So maybe now I've learned my lesson and I'll be able to get myself up early in the morning to avoid hot afternoon running.

AP: 9:10. Splits: 9:38, 9:16, 9:17, 8:57, 9:04, 9:02, 0.55 @ 8:47.

Ugh. That's hot.

nearly ninety degrees! Yikes :-}

I keep thinking I've learned my lesson about sleeping in, and then I keep sleeping in.

Your pace is nice for such hot weather. I'm going to have to check wunderground & find out what our humidity is.

My thing 1 is working at scout camp this summer, so he's gone all week for 6 weeks. We just have to drive him to/from camp on Saturdays and Sundays for his 24 hours off. It's a 2 hour car ride each direction, which equals 8 hours a week-end of driving. It's worth it :-)

Hope your son enjoys his time at scout camp! Isn't this the same one who took up running last month?

No it's not the same one who took up running last month. That was Thing 1. The one at scout camp is the one with staples in his head. Thing 1 and dad are up in Greeley for two days for freshman orientation at the University of Northern Colorado (I would call it UNC, like we do here, but than you would think I was talking about the University of North Carolina).

I think I need to come and train in your heat! I am worried that if I ever have to run in temps above 60, I'll die. I'll die here anyway if it doesn't warm up.

Sounds like a puker to me. Or at least that's what my experience would be. Good job getting through it.

YOU ARE MY HERO!!!! You hit some awesome paces in the heat of the day, I would have been crawling! I so can not do heat!!! But I am glad you got some sleep, I am sure it was kind of worth it (at least in the morning it was!)
