Easy run.

6:39 am, 53° F, 50% humidity, wind 14 SSE.

I ran the same route as yesterday and tried to run it a little slower but still in the 8:49 to 9:19 range. Once again I was slower than that on the first mile, but all the other full miles were in that range except for the 4th. I really tried to slow down on the fourth, but a good junk of it was slightly downhill with the wind behind me.

I'm still working on a reverse taper and just running a few more miles this week than last week. My plan is to do 5 miles each week day and then 8 or 10 on Saturday. But I'm thinking about maybe doing 6 tomorrow.

what is your next race?

Great plan! You always do such a good job of sticking to a plan whether you are training, or tapering up or down. I hope Sam's head is feeling alright. Have you given any more thought to yoga/stretching?

Sounds like recovery is going well, Carolyn! And you are hitting those "faster easy" paces nicely.

Looks like it was a good run! Happy running for the rest of the week!

You are such a super smart runner!!! Nice work, and it is okay to run an extra mile tomorrow, I give you permission.

Now, to yesterday's blog: OUCH!!! Are those staples not just so freaky? Did you watch them do it? My son had to have 8 staples and I almost passed out when they did it. It is amazing that they just sit there not feeling it. OUCH!!!!

And, I love the McMillan running calculator! I plug in ALL my race PR's and then take an average for what he says my goals should be. I think it is very effective!

Have a great day!

Yes, I was there while they were putting in the staples. We were all very calm about it. It was kind of funny, actually. We've been through this many times.

If my husband ever finds the sync cable for his phone or gets a new one, I'll post one of the pictures he took before the wound was stapled shut.

I love/hate the reverse taper. I feel like I should be able to do more, but when I try I usually end up regretting it the next day. You are a smart runner!

oh..and I'm not sure about those before pictures, you may need to put up a warning first :)
