GA run.

6:12 am, 66° F, 40% humidity, wind 10 SSE.

I was late getting out the door again this morning, but rather than cutting my run short, I ran past 7:00. I can still do that because my oldest doesn't go away to college until next Thursday, so he's home with the little one if I'm late getting in. I'll have to do better at getting up early starting next Thursday.

I took a different route this morning. I did a loop that went from Colorado Blvd to County Line Road on University for the second mile and that's a nice downhill stretch. I spent the rest of the run getting back up to the elevation I started at, but it was intermittent and gradual and not too bad. The Garmin says about 600 ft of elevation gain/loss on this route. I like this route. I even got to run through a bunch of really big sprinklers that got me quite wet. The only problem with this route is that I have to cross Colorado Blvd twice, and so I waste some time waiting for stop lights.

I'm calling this a GA run instead of an easy run because I pushed the pace a little bit.

Nice run this morning Carolyn! We had the same AP, a little coincidence :) I've found I like to do fast down then slow/gradual uphill as well. Makes it seem not quite as horrible to recover that 600ft!

Good luck getting the boy off to college, that is something I'm not looking forward to. I still cry at Kindergarten! I'd be a wreck at college :)

School starts next Thursday for your kids?

When does college start? Where is he going again?

I love sprinkler runs.

Hard to be to work at 5:00am, wish I was running instead.

No, Nan. My 3 youngest actually started school on Monday the 9th (though the older two didn't have to go on the first day). My oldest is going to the University of Northern Colorado and I'm moving him up there next Thursday. I believe that classes start the following Monday.

WOW, what a busy week you have had with getting the kids all off and out the door safely. Being a mom is so tiring, and having a schedule to beat is hard (but having the kids back in school is worth it!)

I can not believe you are sending a child off to college, you are way too young for that!

How is the job going with your husband?

I still miss my boy dreadfully, and he's done a year of college. We all cried when we dropped him off. He's been in Alaska all summer doing an internship and arrives home tomorrow! I hope I can keep him for a week or two.

Carolyn- that's a nice pace for your run! Glad you were able to find some sprinklers to take advantage of and take a little extra time to run since your oldest is still home.

We have a county line road here too.. I was a little disappointed today when I found out it's not actually on the county line, but it's pretty close. Rufus Johnson Road is actually closer to the county line..I'm just sure you wanted to know that.

A mom's job is never ever done! Hooray for a good run today!
