This week I have been having "Running Withdrawals".  My knee has been bothering me consistenly for a couple of  months, and off and on for a year.  I got a cortisone shot at the beginning and end of June.  At the beginning of June, both sides of my knee were bothering me.  It started out on one side.  So, I wore a knee band and got some orthotics for my shoes.  That seemed to fix the problem.  Until the other side of my knee started bothering me a ton.  So, I took off the knee band and kept running.  Then both sides of my knee were killing me.  So, the original knee pain is gone from the first cortisone shot.  The second spot is now about 50% better from the second shot.  And I took out the orthotics too.

If you were a non-runner, you'd probably think I am totally crazy.  This week I have been dying to do a long, fast run.  Somehow running a hard run makes me feel like I can conquer the world.  Today I ran somewhere between one and two miles.  I ran to West Jordan Park, and then ran through the park.  I ran on the grass, since the softer surface seems to bother my knee less.  I enjoyed it, but would like to go much further.
