Does the .01 really matter? I often wonder if I should even include it. Because today, honestly, I pushed the stop on my watch as soon as I heard the beep beep for mile 5. But you know what? After 100 days of running, that .01 is really going to add up! I had considered running in the morning and afternoon, but I'm weary of too much too soon after Saturday, so I had little trouble rationalizing an extra hour in bed. The run home was lovely. Cloudy, cool, and a wee bit windy- but that was all quickly forgotten as I got lost in the joy of the jog. I thought the run couldn't get any better when I spotted another HUGE pile of pink cotton candy on the side of the road. But life sometimes has a way of making good runs awesome, and I found this plastic little busted up pagoda-looking topper on the side of the road and managed to run home the last 2 miles with it jutting out the front of my reflective vest. Awkward? Yes. Worth it? Heck Yes! As an added bonus, you can see the paint on the top of my car that has been removed and/or gouged out from the "bike vs garage door opening" episode.
