26 miles on the bike.  I rode at a pace that was a real workout for me for 1 hour.  It ended up only being 16 miles per hour.  I have no idea how Brent goes 24mph for 1 hour.  In my defense, I'm not riding a road bike.  But I did get a good workout.  After the first hour, I slowed down and enjoyed the rest of the ride home.  It took me 50 minutes to ride the next 10 miles home, but I got to see lots of pretty crops growing, the cows, the horses, and got lost for a little while on a dirt road that I thought was a short cut.

Here's some pix I took along the way:

1- one less dog to chase me on the roads...poor fella

2- morning glory growing along the corn stalks

3-Cotton flower blooming

4-sorghum plants (it's grown for a sweetner that's like molasses...kind of). It's really only about 3 feet tall.

That dog doesn't have a collar, does it?

I agree on Brent's 24mph speedway! Holy Moly!!! I was racing and could only eek out 16.4mph. Same deal though...I'm going to blame it on the bike :) Definitely NOT me!

Glad you got a good ride in and I love the pics, except the poor fella. I hope the knee is behaving well after the episode yesterday.

QP - looks like a darn pit bull, we need less pit bulls running loose. Nice workout on the bike, speed does not really matter, the money is in the effort and the hills. I often take out my mountain bike, ride the hills hard, lucky to avg 14 mph. Biking is a good alternative when nurshing running injuries, keeps the quads strong. Also, darn, too bad you don't have a place to swim, would be fun to have to do a Tri with us next time your in town.
