Short-Term Running Goals:

Now that I'm (almost for sure) done having all the babies, I'm working on building consistency and seeing how fast I can get in my old age. ;)

Long-Term Running Goals:

I'd like to be a healthy and relatively injury-free runner for the rest of my life.  

Personal:

I'm married to Eric (Faceless Ghost on the blog) and we have very active daughters and one dog. I have a PhD in sociology and demography, and I'm incredibly grateful to have work that is meaningful and that builds on my academic experience. I run because it makes me feel strong and it helps to keep the crazy away (there is a long history of abuse and mental illness in my extended family).

Around the track at the rec center. I got there at about 6:30 and it was super crowded. Also, I didn't leave myself time to pump before I went (Nora doesn't wake up until about 7:30), so that was pretty uncomfortable. Lesson learned. 

I did 19 laps instead of 18 because someone at the front desk said that it's only 6 laps to a mile from the outside lane and I tend toward the middle lane.

When I got to the gym I just didn't feel like running around the track. I found out that the treadmills have TV (which we don't have at home) - awesome. Plus it was easy to ramp things up at the end.

Nora woke up this morning at the time I was supposed to leave for the rec center, so I did my run in the evening. Better TV choices, but my tummy didn't feel as great. And I had to wait a couple of minutes for a treadmill. Fortunately the track's right there. I took it a little easier than yesterday (no incline or speeding up at the end) since tomorrow morning I'm going to the pilates class in Draper that makes me feel like my quads are ripping apart.

No running - that class really does kick my butt. About five minutes into it every time I regret going, but every time it's over I'm glad I went.
