Today's the first day of the new semester. Eric started the MBA program (now he's doing JD/MBA) and I'm teaching two classes. One I've taught a bunch before (sociology of gender), and one is new to me (regression analysis). I've been poo scared about the new one because it's stuff I learned about 10 years ago (for reals - it's basically the class I took in my first semester of grad school in 2003) and I've used the stuff since then but not really studied it. But after the first class today I decided it's going to be okay. I really really hate taking time to blowdry my hair in the mornings, so since I'm trying to get to campus early I'm going to try running in the evenings. Tonight was the first run, and for the first half I just thought about how much nicer it is to run in the early morning when it's cool and quiet. But on the way back (the out-and-back up to the east edge of campus that I did last monday) it was a little cooler (also dark) and I didn't dislike it. I wore my Altras for the first time since The Injury and enjoyed the space for my toes. I don't think I'll ever love them like I did, but maybe I'll start rotating them through a bit. My garmin didn't pick up GPS for a bit so I don't know my splits, but mapmyrun.com says 3.8 and I ran for 31:17 (I tried to get under 30:00 but it didn't happen), so about 8:14 ap. |
