Short-Term Running Goals:

Now that I'm (almost for sure) done having all the babies, I'm working on building consistency and seeing how fast I can get in my old age. ;)

Long-Term Running Goals:

I'd like to be a healthy and relatively injury-free runner for the rest of my life.  

Personal:

I'm married to Eric (Faceless Ghost on the blog) and we have very active daughters and one dog. I have a PhD in sociology and demography, and I'm incredibly grateful to have work that is meaningful and that builds on my academic experience. I run because it makes me feel strong and it helps to keep the crazy away (there is a long history of abuse and mental illness in my extended family).

To and from the post office. 10:07 (with books), 9:13 (without books)

There was a woman there shipping something to China and the post clerk was being kind of jerky to her because of her accent. Then the clerk said, "They don't have powdered milk in China?" (I guess because she thought it was weird that the girl was spending 60+ to send this little package.) And the girl (girl? woman? probably early 20s) said that she was sending it to someone whose 11-month-old is really small because the mom wasn't making enough milk and in China they don't have medicine to increase a mom's milk supply like they do here, so she was just hoping that what she was sending would help. Yeah, I cried a little bit before it was my turn in line.

Thanks for the reminder to be a little kinder! Did you know I never had milk growing up? It was a very expensive commodity in Hong Kong. I am sure that Chinese gal's kindness will be a great blessing to the lactating mom and her baby! :)
