It's time to start back up on the blog. Training in New Orleans with a new baby has been rougher than I expected. I wanted to get one last good race in last fall, but I struggled leading up to Rylie's birth. I started training more seriously again about 6 weeks ago, although it's been slow going. I put on almost 20 pounds since I moved here, and I've only lost 3 or 4 so far.
Aside from the heat and humidity, my biggest obstacle has been getting my runs in before dark. I got used to running whenever I had time in Bellingham, but it's too risky to be out after dark here. For now I'm doing shorter runs after work and longer runs on the weekends. And I take Rylie in the stroller most of the time.
Today was that kind of day. 85 degrees and 75% humidity, but Rylie loves to ride in the stroller. The wind was a lot stronger than normal, and that made the return trip tough. 6 miles to Algiers Point and back.
