Personal:

My name is Eugenio I was born near Rome, Italy, in 1972 and lived there for 29 years, then in 2001 I moved to Salt Lake City for work and for seven years and one month that was my home, since 2008 I am back to Italy. I started running in 2003 when I realized I could not ride my bike throughout the Utah winter.

My speedy workout didn't end up as fast as I wanted but for sure was intense.

Goal: 5x1600m at 6:10-6-20 with 3:00 of jogging recovery.

This was the outcome: 6:20, 6.23, 6:30, 6:32, 6.34.

It was difficult since the beginning to maintain the pace, I am glad I finished it, doing my best effort to maintain whatever fast pace was left in my legs after each one.

I need this kind of "punishment" to learn to keep my fastest pace even when I am slowing down (without giving up).

Was this on the track or out on the road? Seems that you are doing the right things just an off target day.

Adam,

it was on the road, it was definitively a bad day,my 800s for the last 4 weeks were much faster and more consistent.

I was happy finishing the workout at whatever pace was left.
