Personal:

My name is Eugenio I was born near Rome, Italy, in 1972 and lived there for 29 years, then in 2001 I moved to Salt Lake City for work and for seven years and one month that was my home, since 2008 I am back to Italy. I started running in 2003 when I realized I could not ride my bike throughout the Utah winter.

I am back from a vacation, not the most relaxing one because I got sore throat for a few days, but it was a good relaxing time. I didn't keep a "consistent" running schedule but I tried to enjoy running as much as possible and to recover from my last bad runs at the end of the last week. Today I re-started with a trail run with many uphills and downhills, when I started at 3pm I was running under a thunderstorm (I thought it was going to last only a few minutes and the whole run was under a thick tree cover) fortunately I was right and after 15 minutes sun was back and the humidity was very high.

I finished 13.1 in 2:12 nothing spectacular, but I felt very good at the end (at least one week of very low mileage paid off).

Where was the vacation? I'm heading to Europe later this month. Brussels for a talk. I wish I could take some significant time to tour some of the rest of the area...

Adam it was just a vacation on a small town (300 people during the winter) in the mountains in central Italy. No fast internet connection, just sheep, meadows, hills and snow melting, I really needed to spend some time doing absolutely nothing.

If you want to stop by next time you are in Europe, I want you to let you know that you will have a free ride from the airport, a house and a bed, not too far away from Rome, where to stay.

Think about next time....

I will definitely have to take you up on that. Hopefully it is not another decade before I head back to Europe. Your vacation sounds so appealing. Especially after I just finished a "marathon" weekend of work preparing for this mornings lab meeting.
