Personal:

My name is Eugenio I was born near Rome, Italy, in 1972 and lived there for 29 years, then in 2001 I moved to Salt Lake City for work and for seven years and one month that was my home, since 2008 I am back to Italy. I started running in 2003 when I realized I could not ride my bike throughout the Utah winter.

Since last wednesday I cannot walk without limping and I spend most of the day at work avoiding walking. At home I keep my foot in a ice/water bath. After almost a week without running and my right foot still in pain, in spite of rest, ice and NSAID, in the next few days I am going to have a X-ray hoping that the stress fracture is not there and it is just a bad tendonitis, that eventually will fo away.

At least when I will start running again I will be fully recharged and rested.

What is the latest? I'm sorry to hear you are bit by the injury bug.

Eugenio, I just spoke with Kirk and he said you went to Sandra and Fred's wedding. I was so bummed that I couldn't be there to celebrate with you all. I just couldn't afford to bring the whole family over seas and couldn't leave them behind either to go on the trip by myself.

I'm also sorry you got injured this summer and that I didn't notice until now... I hope that it is a thing of the past and that you are running again. I'm finally back at it and even racing again. Hope to catch up again soon. FYI I did get an NIH grant and will be in Utah for at least one more year.

Thanks guys for your words, I am somehow back to blogging and running, I really didn't feel like reporting every day the same thing, slow run and more pain, no run and still some pain in the morning.

I am getting used to my slow routine and I hope that the lingering pain will go away with some treatment.

Adam,

the wedding was great and we had a good trip to Portugal and it was nice to share thoughts and emotions with Fred and Sandra. I will send you the link to see the pictures we shot during the wedding.

Congratulations for your NIH, and enjoy your time in Utah, in Portugal we realized we all missed those days.
