We got an afternoon shower yesterday.  That made it cool and humid this morning.  I was sweating more than all 5700 runners at SGM combined.

Time - 45:58 (avg pace 8:27)

Splits - 8:22, 8:16, 8:24, 8:33, 8:39, 3:45 for 0.44 (8:28 pace)

The cool thing about today's run is I had 1 mile in the 8's, 1 mile in the 7's, and 1 mile in the 6's.  Okay, that's not that cool.  But as I was cruising along in my 6's a teenager gave me the brotherly fist sign.

Time - 22:49 (avg. pace 7:36)

Splits - 7:54, 6:21, 8:34

I went running this evening with Marilyn and Elizabeth at Las Sendas.  It was a gorgeous night.  We all felt a lot better than usual probably because it was 20° cooler than what we're used to.  We talked about my upcoming Ragnar race, their upcoming triathlon/duathlon, how I found out Marilyn's brother is in my ward, how I used to be in the ward Elizabeth is in now, how Elizabeth saw a man tied up in the street in her neighborhood, how I had a drive by shooting right in front of my house in that neighborhood, how Kelli has a picture of Marilyn on her facebook from Ragnar Wasatch Back.  We talked a lot.  Until we hit the hill.  That's when I took over double stroller duty.  Our goal was to do the loop in a 10 minute pace or better.  We had no problems because we were feeling good.

Time - 42:52 (avg. pace 9:28)

Splits - 9:32, 9:21, 9:37, 9:28, 4:54 for 0.53 (9:19 pace)

I'm trying to get a mock Ragnar in for Vegas in two weeks.  I ran last night, this morning, and I'll run later tonight again.  This morning I ran my "backwards" loop.  I'm finding out that running counterclockwise around the city block is dangerous.  People just aren't looking for pedestrians coming from that direction.  You constantly have to be on your guard.  I still need to test that theory a little more.  After running the 4.3 mile backwards loop I stopped and ate some energy chews and drank some PowerAde.  Then I went out and ran the canal loop.

AM run

Time - 1:02:04 (avg. pace 8:35)

Splits - 8:22, 8:27, 8:35, 8:38, 8:34, 8:49, 8:37, 2:02 for 0.23 (8:48 pace)
