Another late night run.  But not as late as Saturday.  This time I got out at 9PM after a riveting family night.  When I walked outside I saw 4 of the youth that go to my church out for a run.  I demanded that they wait for me.  One of them likes my daughter.  And my daughter likes him.  But they're not boyfriend and girlfriend because she's 14 and he's 15, and that's NOT happening.  Maybe when they're 22 and 23.  I should not also mention that he is a blaxican.  But that doesn't have anything to do with anything.

Since two of them had to be home by 9:15PM, we ran down to the park and did three hill sprints.  Then they went home (I hope), and I ran around the block.  No panic attacks this time.  I'm not too fond of not being able to see the tree branches until I'm a couple feet away.   I finished my run, but didn't feel great.

When I got home my daughter's love interest saw me.  Apparently there is some teenage drama going on, and he was being mean, but he was sorry, and he wanted my help, and I didn't care, and mom is too funny to be serious around, blah, blah, blah.  I don't know.  But the funny thing is he touched my shirt twice and recoiled in disgust both times.

Avg. pace - 9:12

I would do some late night runs, but I'm afraid of the animals that come out at night.

From Burt on Tue, Sep 27, 2011 at 12:32:44 from 68.14.209.26

Oh yeah. That time I stayed the night in Midway I saw a deer. It was so scary.

From RAD on Tue, Sep 27, 2011 at 12:38:39 from 76.27.16.189

Like sands through the hour glass...these are the days of our lives.

Just for the drama factor.

From Burt on Tue, Sep 27, 2011 at 12:40:58 from 68.14.209.26

RAD, please don't steal my joke.

From RAD on Tue, Sep 27, 2011 at 12:42:00 from 76.27.16.189

sorry, all I know how to do is copy and paste...

From Amy Jo on Tue, Sep 27, 2011 at 14:55:49 from 68.41.252.191

Thanks for your encouragement on my blog...how did you do it?? I feel so lost...build speed, endurance, distance...What comes first??

From Burt on Tue, Sep 27, 2011 at 15:45:43 from 68.14.209.26

Amy Jo - Just run whatever feels good. Don't try to be a hero and overdo it. Run whatever feels like it would be doable the next day. Before you know it your endurance will build. And don't worry about speed. Speed will come as log more and more miles. Also, make sure you get proper rest. A day or two of cross training in a week can be helpful, too.

"Riveting" family nights and teenage drama, how awesome can one night be?

Those tree branches do appear out of nowhere, I sampled some leaves last night on my jog.

From AZDesertmonsoon on Tue, Sep 27, 2011 at 18:18:22 from 204.17.31.126

If he was so disgusted, why did he do it again?

From Burt on Tue, Sep 27, 2011 at 18:40:47 from 68.14.209.26

ACorn - Arizona leaves are a bit more pokey.

AZDM - I guess he's not too bright. Good kid. But not bright.

From Rhett on Tue, Sep 27, 2011 at 20:16:50 from 74.32.213.84

I'm not looking forward to those teenage years with my kids. Just keep wearing nasty, sweaty shirts and scare all those mean boys away.

From Rye on Wed, Sep 28, 2011 at 00:37:04 from 75.174.14.230

Your gutsy Burt. Do you remember the last time

you used a term to describe someones race. Course I did enjoy the blogging going back and forth.

From Burt on Wed, Sep 28, 2011 at 00:43:13 from 72.223.91.148

Rhett - You only have one girl. I have 5.

Rye - Yeah. That was a good one. But Blaxican is a term he uses to describe himself. Everyone in his family is Mexican, yet he is obviously black, but he says he's not adopted.

From Sammie Howard on Wed, Sep 28, 2011 at 08:23:29 from 78.32.130.9

Burt what is a blaxican ????

and why are you scared of tree branches????

I say no boyfriends till shes 33 lol

From SlowJoe on Wed, Sep 28, 2011 at 10:20:12 from 132.3.53.68

Blaxican is much better than Blaxican't. I'd give him the green light to date your daughter.

From Merri on Wed, Sep 28, 2011 at 11:54:01 from 160.7.252.148

ha ha it was just so funny rad I had to say it again.

From RAD on Wed, Sep 28, 2011 at 12:15:21 from 76.27.16.189

Yeah, yeah...I know, all you know how to do is copy and paste :)

From Burt on Wed, Sep 28, 2011 at 12:27:44 from 68.14.209.26

Sammie - Tree branches remind me of my priest.

Joe - I give Dirk Nowitzki the green light to date your daughters.

Steve - Thanks. Too bad I didn't make it out last night.

Merri - I'm a General Hospital man myself. Remember that time everyone thought Luke was dead, but then he wasn't, and then Laura fell in love with him, and he like popped out of the water and grabbed her foot?

My kids are so little still it must be weird when they start getting "interests"!

From Burt on Fri, Sep 30, 2011 at 16:48:46 from 68.14.209.26

Chris - I don't think those are safe for the environment.

Julie - Thanks. Ugh. Have I really not run since Monday? This week is crazy!

Sue - Yep. And my 12 yo is quite jealous. She doesn't like living in her sister's shadow.

From Tara on Mon, Oct 03, 2011 at 01:34:32 from 75.169.137.76

Oh that was good. Always nice to stop in for some entertaining reading. Even if it is about teen drama. Maybe that's why I like Twilight:)

From Burt on Mon, Oct 03, 2011 at 10:20:28 from 72.223.91.148

Are you team Edward or team Jacob?

From Tara on Mon, Oct 03, 2011 at 19:47:25 from 75.169.137.76

Either or. Actually, if I'm being honest....in the books, Edward in the movies, Jacob. Important question and I'm glad you asked!

From Burt on Mon, Oct 03, 2011 at 19:50:40 from 68.14.209.26

It is so important. Your answer has determined your fate with Sasha kicking you off the blog.

From Tara on Mon, Oct 03, 2011 at 20:22:44 from 75.169.137.76

Now I'm nervous. Who else will validate me each day? I don't want to think about it honestly. Anyway, I hope I chose right although I kinda feel like I took it safe. Go team FRB!

From runningafterbabies on Mon, Oct 03, 2011 at 20:26:50 from 71.195.219.247

Don't you love all the validation you receive on the blog? If only our children/families felt the same way!
