Everyone should go to Kory's blog and wish him a speedy recovery.  He was hit by a truck.

I was going to run with my old Ragnar team, but at the last minute everyone bailed on me.  So I decided to go run with the Sole Sports group.  I heard they were giving away a free pair of shoes.  I got there a few minutes late.  Most everyone had taken off.  I stretched out and took off.  I caught a lot of them.  The last half mile I noticed some areolic hemorrhaging, so I took my shirt off.  I hung around for a bit, but I was too shy with my shirt off to ask if there was a sign in for the shoe raffle.  So I just left.

Time - 51:37 (avg. pace 8:36 pace)

Splits - 9:18, 8:42, 8:37, 8:27, 8:30, 8:02

I forgot to mention that I won a free pair of running socks from the Tempe Road Runners.  They put a facebook blast asking you to post something funny on their page.  I didn't think I could be Johnny-on-the-spot funny, but I did it!

Day 55 P90X - Yoga X - That last moving oscillation where you go the Warrior 3, standing leg splits, reach to the sky, twisting reach to the sky is killer!  But I'm getting better.

Hahaha areolic hemorrhaging. That sounds serious. Better get some band-aids on those.

From artichoke on Sat, Aug 28, 2010 at 13:36:52 from 97.126.184.64

Great negative splits this morning Burt! Take care of that areolic hemorrhaging! It looks great on the shirt, kind of your red badge of courage.

From baldnspicy on Sat, Aug 28, 2010 at 13:37:56 from 72.77.116.121

Never be ashamed of going topless. It's our way of letting others know it's OK to let a little hang out/over.

From Burt on Sat, Aug 28, 2010 at 13:47:34 from 68.225.214.248

Nan - I was trying to use big words to impress you.

Choke - Better a red badge of courage than a scarlet letter.

BNS - My 7 yo saw your blog the other day before you're let her go picture. She was like, "Well, he does look spicy. And he is bald."

From Julie on Sat, Aug 28, 2010 at 14:05:40 from 67.199.162.82

Nice average pace!

You need to take some sandpaper to those during the week to build up some resistance.

From SlowJoe on Sun, Aug 29, 2010 at 02:13:16 from 214.13.130.104

Hey nice progressive run. How many phrases can you come up with to describe bleeding nipples?

From Bec on Sun, Aug 29, 2010 at 02:20:31 from 76.23.55.210

I want to win some socks! I'm not funny though.

From AZDesertmonsoon on Sun, Aug 29, 2010 at 02:42:01 from 63.226.16.151

Leeking Loblollies, bloody bazongas, chapped cha chas, rubbed raw rib cushions, bruised bongos, skinned skooners, dripping doodads, sugarplum seepage, trickling ta-tas. Those are my contributions. I am a fan of alliteration.

From Burt on Sun, Aug 29, 2010 at 03:41:48 from 68.225.214.248

Julie - You keep hanging around Lily, and my "nice average pace" is going to seem pretty slow to you.

Paul - Sandpaper? Now why didn't I think of that?

Chris - somebody's been watching The Simpsons...

Joe - with AZDM at my side, I'll never run out of phrases.

Bec - If there were a contest for cuteness, you'd win 5 pairs of free socks. Just submit that new facebook profile picture.

From flatlander on Sun, Aug 29, 2010 at 07:41:02 from 198.207.244.102

You always come up with something funny. That's why we keep coming back. (Plus you are fast.)

From runningafterbabies on Sun, Aug 29, 2010 at 11:03:13 from 67.177.9.74

So what was the shoe winning comment?

From Kelli on Sun, Aug 29, 2010 at 11:21:58 from 71.219.102.155

You didn't think you could be funny????

I do not know who Carrie Lucero is so I am not laughing at all. I better go Google her, I am a loser!

I do, however, want to get on of those "One Mile to Go" shirts.

From Burt on Sun, Aug 29, 2010 at 20:16:20 from 68.225.214.248

Sam - I like how the nipple tassels swing in unison.

Kelli - Carrie Lucero is a worker at TRRS, possibly the owner. At the very least she runs their Facebook page. I find the way to get people to like you is to talk about them or make up a joke about them. It's a little brown nosing technique that works really well, especially in talks at church. That's why I highlighted your performance at TOU in a facebook post. See? You like me now.

From Kelli on Sun, Aug 29, 2010 at 22:00:10 from 71.219.102.155

So I am not a loser---I never would have known. Way to brown nose for the socks. They may come in handy if you ever have major issues on a long run...

I have always liked you, I let you sleep at my house and I fed you a big Father's Day breakfast at 5 am!!!!

From Kelli on Mon, Aug 30, 2010 at 13:30:59 from 71.219.102.155

I will do my best to keep the secret.
