I got up a half an hour earlier today because MD's marathon training schedule called for more miles today.  We wanted to do 8, but I was worried I wouldn't make it home in time to get my kid to school.  So I only did 7.59 and MD kept going.  It's pretty sad.  Tomorrow's going to be the last day we get to run together until she comes back to visit.

Time - 1:10:12 (avg. pace 9:15)

Splits - 9:49, 9:23, 9:16, 9:01, 9:26, 9:18, 9:05, 4:55 for 0.59 (8:17 pace)

Temp - 95

A great loss in the force... hope she visits often. Great running buddies are few & far between.

What are you going to do without MD there to get you up and running in the mornings? No slacking!

Nice mileage Burt! Especially after yesterday's torture session - you like to call it p90x :)

From allie on Tue, Aug 17, 2010 at 19:07:21 from 161.38.221.168

i am pretty sure most people doing p90x don't run an additional 7-8 miles. maybe that is why you are a coach.

good job, burt!

You look like you are really digging deep for the win.

On the second from the bottom picture, you can see Chico from Parker right over my shoulder. He had a pretty good lead for most of the race. Then I kicked it in and smoked by him. I wasn't about to lose on my home turf. Ah, glory days will pass you by in the wink of a young girl's eye.

Don't worry allie. My hot shoes picture is coming soon.

From ChrisM on Wed, Aug 18, 2010 at 04:54:02 from 130.88.123.4

the expression on your face on the second to last one is great!

From allie on Wed, Aug 18, 2010 at 09:11:26 from 174.23.182.80

Hardy har Chris. I knew someone would say that.

You know, I actually wrote a race report for this race. We were doing creative writing in English and we had to do one of those essays where we use all 5 senses. I talked about how I could taste my lunch with my nervous burps. It would be awesome if I could did it up.

Chad - Thanks. The above link explains why my hair was so wild and free in HS. The newspaper clipping is from our second home meet. I didn't have anyone to chase down at the end, and I beat my previous time by 2 seconds.

From Chad on Wed, Aug 18, 2010 at 13:20:57 from 168.177.153.171

Wow! Your were big time. A news paper article and everything. Seriously though, that's awesome. It looks like at some point you did start letting your dad cut your hair.

From Mike on Wed, Aug 18, 2010 at 15:02:06 from 64.235.121.242

I bet video footage would be very similar to a shampoo commercial.
