We got a nice Arizona Desert Monsoon last night.  I slept through it, but I saw the aftermath this morning.  Trees blow over.  Branches in the road.  PUDDLES in the street!  My 3 miles felt fine this morning.  My breathing was nice and relaxed.  My legs felt good.  It was just incredibly humid.  I had my own monsoon going before long.

Time -  27:18 (avg. pace 9:01)

Splits - 9:15, 8:54, 8:56, 0:13

The other day I saw this picture of myself and thought, "Dayyyng, I looked good!"  I haven't done a P90X workout since Oct. 3rd of last year.  So I finally broke down and brought it with a little Chest and Back/Ab Ripper X.  I can barely type now.

I think Phoenix is wetter than Houston this year.

Well, I wouldn't know. I live in Mesa.

Monsoon Burt....it has a certain ring to it. When is the next Ragnar race you're running?

From Burt on Tue, Jul 26, 2011 at 12:07:00 from 72.223.91.148

Hey Eric. Triple monsoon if you count Arizona Desert Monsoon the blogger.

Trap - that marathon has turned you into a comedian. Or is your wife writing your jokes for you?

Dale - thanks bro.

QP - The next Ragnar race is Las Vegas in October. Speaking of the Vegas Ragnar relay, check out the picture I just posted.

My wife writes better jokes than that in her sleep :)

After attempting pull ups......texting is my biggest problem!

From Burt on Tue, Jul 26, 2011 at 13:21:17 from 206.19.214.144

I like how you said attempting. LOL! Shaving this morning was hard, too.

I can't make myself do P90x, although I do break out abripperX about once a week to pretend I am sculpting my core. Nice pic. Glad you got a little moisture.

From Burt on Tue, Jul 26, 2011 at 17:40:37 from 206.19.214.144

Hey, I just realized I have no idea where those shorts are. Better check my daughter's drawers.

April - Don't fool us. We know you have abs of steel.

Those self inflicted monsoons remind me of a guy I ran with in college nicknamed Piggy (lots of reasons) who would tend to send off a mist. The mist reminded me of Hawaii's beaches when the wind blows the rain out of the mountains and rainbows start popping out everywhere. Only Piggy didn't seem to have the same effect Hawaii had. That guy had to use bagels and newspapers to dry his shoes out every night during the summer months.

"Dayyyng, I looked good!" PS good news you've been approved!

From Merri on Wed, Jul 27, 2011 at 10:59:42 from 160.7.252.148

it would have been even better if there'd been more Draco Malfoy-punching.

From Burt on Wed, Jul 27, 2011 at 12:39:49 from 72.223.91.148

Hamdog - My favorite sweat moments after a nice run are when hundreds of beads of sweat form in my hair and make me look grey. Also, when I come home and just steam. Literally steam is coming off my body.

From Burt on Wed, Jul 27, 2011 at 12:46:16 from 72.223.91.148

Merri - I gotta admit, you're really starting to get into Satan now.

You are getting very good at photo shopping body doubles. It looks real! :)

Whatever Steam! It's the real deal. No plastic surgery or photoshopping here.
