PM - on the treadmill at the hotel in ATL - (a few inches of snow fell here this afternoon - quite a big deal - my office is shut down for tomorrow because of it) 8 x 800 at 5k pace with a 400 rest after a 3 mile warm up and a 1.5 cool down.  Kept the pace under 6 mins per mile and did well getting through the workout.   Pleased with the effort.

That's right, I heard on the radio driving home that Altanta has applied for federal disaster assistance for its two inches of snow.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

LOL - it is crazy Rob. It appears that perhaps they did not salt the roads (or did not have the equipment or resources to do it) ahead of the snow and so, as soon as the roads started loading up with traffic in the icy conditions - there were expected problems. Folks were and are still stuck in their vehicles today over 12 hours later.

Quite cold out today, I walked from my hotel to the MARTA station and with the exception of a couple of buses there are no vehicles on the surface streets - and nothing has been done to clear them of the ice. Felt like a post-apocalyptic scene walking down the middle of a usually very busy road with no sound except for the wind and my feet crunching on the ice and snow.

After about 8 hours of being stuck in my car, I think I'd get out and walk!

Actually I think that's what some people did, Jake - and thus there are lots of abandoned vehicles in roadways, blocking the traffic.
