AM - 9 miles with the guys and the dogs on the Forsyth trail - with crisp temps in the upper 30's.   Was suprised to learn that a friend of mine participated in the Barkley Marathon this week - evidently when you are selected to do the race, it is an unwritten rule not to make it known to too many people.    He completed the first loop and had to stop in the second loop when it was clear he was not going to make the cut-off.   One of the last books he had to locate was entitled "It wasn't always easy, but I sure had fun" - which is what he entitled his Strava entry.   He wore orange and blue including a Florida Gator's visor.  Of course only 2 runners even completed the "Fun Run" this year of 3 loops.   Well done, Chris Hanlon.

Update- I had not realized Karen McNeany - also was a participant in the Barkley race   She and Chris met when he crewed for Amelia Boone in 2018 and have been a couple for nearly since that time.   Karen finished the first loop outside of the cutoff time but had the distinction of having bib#1 in this years race.  Congratulations to Karen as well.

I feel like the race director was offended that Jared completed it 3 times and so now has made it close to impossible.I predict it will be another decade before anyone finishes.
