18 miles on the treadmill this afternoon while watching the Rays defeat the Yankees.  Did the last 2 miles at marathon pace.  Felt pretty solid most of the run.  Debated whether to do 20 or 18 which was on my schedule; opted to do the last 2 miles at marathon pace as an alternative.  I seem to benefit from fast finish long runs.

Two out of threr from the Yankees aint bad right?

Are you going to do any racing any time soon? Maybe find a half marathon in mid October

Wow, 18 miles on a TM? Impressive dedication and good run with the fast finish.

Yes - Rays took 2 out of 3 in the series. Look very solid. I will look for a half marathon in mid-October - recall there being one in Orlando or North Florida around that time last year.

Thanks Jeff -- I used to think long runs on the TM were crazy too - but once you have done a few, it really isn't a big deal. Plus, the consistency of pace and climate (and the benefit of not dealing with high heat and humidity) make it a good way to measure improvement (or lack thereof!).
