PM - on the treadmill in the afternoon.  1 mile warm up then 4 miles at MRP then 4 miles at 7:30 pace then a mile cool down.  Wore the HR monitor - but was a little concerned that my HR was higher than I need it to be at MRP.  Not sure if the TM is calibrated correctly - as my Garmin foot pod was showing a 5:58 pace - which likewise could have been mis-calibrated.  In any event - I did a very similar workout to this one last year at this time before NYC and was pleased with the effort and how my HR was comfortably low.  So, I am a bit concerned that if my HR is not where it needs to be for my goal pace, I may need to re-calibrate my goal!

So what is your hoped-for MRP?

I read on the letsrun.com message boards that the best predictor workout for a marathon is a marathon run at MRP.

Brilliant!

My desired MRP would be around 6:45 - Hard to say where I will be - sort of like a budget and actual.

I did the Yasso's 800's about 2 weeks ago - all at 2:50 or better - so if that is an accurate predictor - give or take 5 minutes maybe I have shot. (Of course maybe that's only a predictor of running 10 x 800 with equal rest.)

I have limited excuses too - I am not hurt, I am not sick and the weather is supposed to be good.

I think you will do it with time to spare. Do yourself a favor and build yourself a cushion at the half. Very few people negative split a marathon.
