PR's

5K: 21:26 (2005)

4 mile: 28:10 (2005)

10K: 43:33 (2010)

10 mile: 1:13:35 (2009) (1:12:15 split in 1/2 marathon, 2011)

1/2 marathon: 1:34:31 (2011)

marathon: 3:19:15 (2013)

Short-Term Running Goals:

3:20 marathon - Eugene Marathon, April 28, 2013 (can I say I really want a sub 3:20? but I will be happy with 3:20-3:23) -- whoohoo!

Some good intermediate races 15K - 1/2 marathon, to gauge my fitness level (done this, hit a 1:34:35 1/2 marathon in March 2013, on a hilly course)

Going after my 10 mile PR in Fall 2013

Maybe some good 10K races after the infernal Arizona summer is over!

Long-Term Running Goals:

I want to be one of those runners who is still running in their 80s (or 90s?).  You know the ones, who look all grisley and fit?  That is what I would like!  Until then, I just want to work hard and be as fast as I can, for as long as I can.

1:59:36 (1:03:11 out/56:24 back) 9:01/8:03.   This was pretty amazing considering I felt like complete crap from the start.  I was simply hoping to be able to run 9 min pace the whole run ... but somehow, I was able to pick it up at the turn-around.  I think I am fighting a cold, and the lack of sleep of late is not helping my immune system.  I have to work today, but first I need a burrito, then maybe a nap??

I am so impressed by everyones races yesterday!  Yea fastrunning bloggers, you rock!!!

Happy Sunday.

1:15:39.  I don't know how long this was, I just know it was shorter than my usual ~9 mile course (based on Bonnie-9-min-mile pace) so I am calling it 8.5.  I had a meeting that I had to run to so I had a shorter cool-down than usual.  10 x 45"w/2` recovery.

 4 miles easy.

72:14.  Easy run.  Did not feel well in the morning, lethargic, not sleeping well.  Did ok on the run.

This week is really busy.  I just am overwhelmed with deadlines and work.

I hope all is well bloggers!

AM: (9 miles, 1:15:06).  scheduled 'workout' was 80` with the last 20` @ MP.   Ran an out-and-back route today - much hillier than my usual 9 miles, but I was in a hurry and this route avoids my horse friends Big Boy and Coco who would expect me to stop and feed them carrots if I went by their corral.  I hit my usual little-longer-than-2-mile landmark in 18:12 (about 40 secs faster than usual), and my second landmark was a little more than a minute faster -- so I estimate I was running about 8:40-8:45 pace on the way out.  Started to pick it up at the turnaround in such a way that I was down to MP by 20` out from my house.  My little-longer-than-2-mile split on the way back was 15:22 (2:50 faster) -- I would guess I was somewhere between 7:25-7:30 pace -- which given the terrain (very hilly) was pretty good.  Not really marathon pace - my marathon pace would be closer to 7:45-7:50 -- but good for a "workout".

PM: easy 4.

Happy Thursday bloggers.
