PR's

5K: 21:26 (2005)

4 mile: 28:10 (2005)

10K: 43:33 (2010)

10 mile: 1:13:35 (2009) (1:12:15 split in 1/2 marathon, 2011)

1/2 marathon: 1:34:31 (2011)

marathon: 3:19:15 (2013)

Short-Term Running Goals:

3:20 marathon - Eugene Marathon, April 28, 2013 (can I say I really want a sub 3:20? but I will be happy with 3:20-3:23) -- whoohoo!

Some good intermediate races 15K - 1/2 marathon, to gauge my fitness level (done this, hit a 1:34:35 1/2 marathon in March 2013, on a hilly course)

Going after my 10 mile PR in Fall 2013

Maybe some good 10K races after the infernal Arizona summer is over!

Long-Term Running Goals:

I want to be one of those runners who is still running in their 80s (or 90s?).  You know the ones, who look all grisley and fit?  That is what I would like!  Until then, I just want to work hard and be as fast as I can, for as long as I can.

2:02:xx ... first 1/2 was in the 1:04 range, 2nd was 58:xx.  It was HOT (again),  I started at 6:30 and it was already low-to-mid 80's and 95F when I finished.  It was a nice run though, probably a little better than last Sunday, despite the heavy legs (from travel and lack-of-training).

I got to bed late because I was up watching the mens World Championship marathon -- holy cow what a race.   He just opened up a gap at 25K by throwing down a 14:40 5K and never let up!  It really was crazy.  It was 75F with 65% humidity and he just threw down the hammer -- splits below (courtesy of LetsRun.com)

5km 15:58
10km 31:21 (15:23)
15km 46:28 (15:07)

Happy Sunday bloggers.

AM: (9 miles, 1:18:12).  Ran about 6.5 or so miles at an easy pace and then ran the last 20` at MP.  The same "little over 2 mile" landmark was 18:43 on the way out and 15:40 on the way back.  It was still hot, but at least partially overcast today ... it looks like summer is going to last another month or so here ... I just can't wait until it is under 80 degree lows ;-).

PM: easy 4.

Trying to be brave, but it is hard to concentrate, so I feel like I am drowning in work.  As executor of my Mom's will there are a lot of "details" to work out, probably a good thing as there is little time to sit around and be sad.

I hope you are all running well!!  Happy Tuesday-that-feels-like-a-Monday bloggers!

1:11:08.  Still hot, but I heard from AZMonsoon that next week might be better (maybe some lows in the mid-70s??  that would be SO awesome!).

Happy hump day bloggers!

AM: (10+ miles, 1:26:55).  30:10wu/29:38cd  10 x 45" w/2` recovery.  Was hard, both because it was so hot (95F and sunny) and I am out of shape and not sleeping much.

PM: 4 miles easy.

Hope you are all having a nice week bloggers!!

1:01:43.  Hot, feel pretty bad today ... I am not sure if I am sick, depressed, or both.  On a happier note, I did get to watch TF last night -- not WTF, but the penultimate Diamond League meet in Zurich.  It was pretty cool ... Vivian Cheruiyot, Sally Pearson and Mariya Savinova were winners AGAIN, after only a few days rest ... and on the men's side, Ezekiel Kemboi wowed the crowd AGAIN!

Happy Friday to all of you bloggers -- for those of you that are racing tomorrow -- good luck!!

AM: (8 miles, 1:11:23).  It was a cool 78F this morning -- YIPPEE.  It rained hard last night and finally, after 5 months, it is finally cool in the morning!  I can't tell you how much better it feels.

PM: easy 4.  DRAT!  Huge monsoon storm ruined my PM run.  I am not adverse to running in the rain, but these monsoons are pretty intense -- and it was so dark out that the drivers could not see me - actually, there are 3 cars that are parked on the dirt road in front of our house right now, they can't make it up the hill with the rain as bad as it is.

Can't wait to see how everyone did in their races today!  Happy Saturday bloggers.

Holy Cow, David Rudisha just ran a world leading 800 meters today in 1:41:33!!!
