1:27:xx. Stomach was much better today -- so, I decided to run a "workout". Debated between my 800s (on the schedule for today) or fartlek (on the schedule for Tuesday). Decided on the fartlek. Everything was great. Then ... about 2 miles from home my lower leg started to ache ... bad, like last year ache, only it was on the lateral side of my tibia and not the medial side ... when the run was over it still ached. It ached all day. I pushed, prodded poked, and tried a little "self ART". Now is it swollen, but it does not hurt unless I flex my foot. I decided to skip my 2nd run in hopes it will feel better tomorrow ... since the week is sort of a bust because of Tuesday anyway. On another note. I posting this everywhere -- so, everyone must have heard right now about both Paula and Deena losing their records (WR and AR in the marathon, respectively) -- well, they didn't actually lose them, they just got rolled back to slower runs for both of them -- because of the new IAAF ruling on women's records not counting if they were run in races with men. Theoretically, it is because of they fact that they both had men pacers, but still. Anyway -- the message is, "you can change the rules but you can't change history" - Paula still ran a WR of 2:15... no matter what ... (in my opinion). I hope you are all doing well, preparing for your weekend races and going strong!!! |
