5K: 21:26 (2005)

4 mile: 28:10 (2005)

10K: 43:33 (2010)

10 mile: 1:13:35 (2009) (1:12:15 split in 1/2 marathon, 2011)

1/2 marathon: 1:34:31 (2011)

marathon: 3:19:15 (2013)

Short-Term Running Goals:

3:20 marathon - Eugene Marathon, April 28, 2013 (can I say I really want a sub 3:20? but I will be happy with 3:20-3:23) -- whoohoo!

Some good intermediate races 15K - 1/2 marathon, to gauge my fitness level (done this, hit a 1:34:35 1/2 marathon in March 2013, on a hilly course)

Going after my 10 mile PR in Fall 2013

Maybe some good 10K races after the infernal Arizona summer is over!

Long-Term Running Goals:

I want to be one of those runners who is still running in their 80s (or 90s?).  You know the ones, who look all grisley and fit?  That is what I would like!  Until then, I just want to work hard and be as fast as I can, for as long as I can.

AM: (10.5, 1:30:00 -- cool, not planned!).  I think this might have been closer to 11 miles, but I am not sure.  27:20wu/29:18cd,  6`5`4`3`2`1` w/2` recovery (started at 1/2 marathon pace and got down to about 3K pace).  I was thinking about going to the track for this -- since it is the only flat place around, but then I thought "hills are good, just run by feel, it is good for  you!!" - so I convinced myself to just run on the roads.  My last 2` recovery was a little longer than 2` because I had to stop and let a herd of about 12 deer pass in front of me!!  Felt awesome!  I got home at 11 or so last night - I ended up going to the off-campus lab site (~ 25 miles from the main campus) yesterday to help collate and create pdf files for the grant (it was mailed off this morning) -- it was a late late night for me. Plus I got a speeding ticket (and I did not have my insurance card on me, so I got a ticket for that too) drat.  Anyway, I slept in until 7:30 this morning and did not get out the door until nearly 9:30.  But it was a wonderful temperature today for a hard run (65F).

PM: easy 4.

Happy Thursday bloggers!

Double drat on the ticket thing. Last time I got pulled over (for not yielding to a pedestrian incidentally), the cop asked where I was coming from and I said that I had just spent $700 getting my car repaired (which was true) and he let me off without a ticket.

I'm glad you got to sleep in today after your late night. And you ran fast too.
