4 mile: 28:10 (2005)

10K: 43:33 (2010)

10 mile: 1:13:35 (2009) (1:12:15 split in 1/2 marathon, 2011)

1/2 marathon: 1:34:31 (2011)

marathon: 3:19:15 (2013)

Short-Term Running Goals:

3:20 marathon - Eugene Marathon, April 28, 2013 (can I say I really want a sub 3:20? but I will be happy with 3:20-3:23) -- whoohoo!

Some good intermediate races 15K - 1/2 marathon, to gauge my fitness level (done this, hit a 1:34:35 1/2 marathon in March 2013, on a hilly course)

Going after my 10 mile PR in Fall 2013

Maybe some good 10K races after the infernal Arizona summer is over!

Long-Term Running Goals:

I want to be one of those runners who is still running in their 80s (or 90s?).  You know the ones, who look all grisley and fit?  That is what I would like!  Until then, I just want to work hard and be as fast as I can, for as long as I can.

AM: (9.5 miles, 1:24:24).  I really have no idea how far this was, I did my usual "8 mile" route and added in 10 x :30 pick-ups w/1` recovery.

PM: (4 miles easy).

Early morning meeting, I had give a short talk this morning ... we are going to be submitting a very big grant in May and I am the director of one of the core's in the project.  Very boring - except when I got into a minor "altercation" with one of the other project leaders ... that was exciting.

There is a huge memorial (and vigil) going on in the front of the hospital (all of the victims from Saturday are here) -- it is two buildings over from my office and next door to the Cancer Center (where I have a lot of meetings).  It is quite sad ... and I couldn't believe how many people were there (not including reports, of which there are thousands).  We are in "lock-down" here, many areas are closed off to the public and everywhere you go you have to show your id.  There is a big Memorial tomorrow (President and first lady Obama will be here) - so they cancelled the first day of classes tomorrow.  This is actually pretty good for me, as Monday is a holiday so I have a whole week before my first lecture now, and I can concentrate on my paper that is due next Tuesday ... the University will be shutting down tomorrow at 2:30 though, I have not decided whether I will be going to the Memorial or watch it from home.

I hope you are all having a wonderful week, running strong and staying warm.

I bet it will be well-attended. And sad. Is the memorial at the university?

(Good run)

Hi Tracy, yes it will be where the basketball games are played (probably the biggest building on campus). The memorial in front of the hospital is huge ... there are flowers, candles, teddy bears, balloons ... it must cover 50 meters. And there are others, one at Gabrielle Gifford's office, another at Christina's (the little girl) school and one at the shopping center where it happened.

Wow Bonnie, I'm just catching up on you here. I didn't realize you were so close to all that stuff going on. Very sad indeed. Also, I didn't quite catch it all, but was your car broken into and things stolen? So sorry! As you know it's hard to keep up with everything in life and everyone on the blog. Wish I could read everyday. Good luck with all your business! You wear me out even without your running! :)
