10K: 43:33 (2010)

10 mile: 1:13:35 (2009) (1:12:15 split in 1/2 marathon, 2011)

marathon: 3:19:15 (2013)

Short-Term Running Goals:

3:20 marathon - Eugene Marathon, April 28, 2013 (can I say I really want a sub 3:20? but I will be happy with 3:20-3:23) -- whoohoo!

Some good intermediate races 15K - 1/2 marathon, to gauge my fitness level (done this, hit a 1:34:35 1/2 marathon in March 2013, on a hilly course)

Going after my 10 mile PR in Fall 2013

Maybe some good 10K races after the infernal Arizona summer is over!

Long-Term Running Goals:

I want to be one of those runners who is still running in their 80s (or 90s?).  You know the ones, who look all grisley and fit?  That is what I would like!  Until then, I just want to work hard and be as fast as I can, for as long as I can.

Got into town about 11:30 last night, got to my hotel, got my clothes ironed, and got to bed by 1AM.  Funny, the heater in my room makes a sound similar to an alarm buzzer (hard to explain but that sound than a digital clock makes ...) when it starts up.  So, about every hour or so I would jump up to turn off the alarm  .... ;-).

I got up and ran in the dark.  The latest storm missed DC, but the one last week has left the bike path basically an inch of ice (seriously no pavement at all). So, I ran on some neighborhood roads, found some nice hilly routes, enjoyed myself immensely, even though the roads were just icy and slick everywhere.  Then ... dedum dedum (think jaws) dedum dedum ... one minute I am cruising along, the next minute I am slowly but with great force hitting the ground ... whump ... my hand, my arm, my hip ... MY HEAD went SMACK against the curb ... I got up (this happened near a busy intersection and I had to refrain from being run over -- and my ego was bruised).  Things really hurt, but I needed to get back to the hotel.  I got up in my room and WOWSER I had an egg sized bump right over my right eye.  I have been sitting in the meeting trying to ice to get the swelling to go down ... and it kind of has, but now my whole eye socket is swollen and I have a beautiful black eye ... it is beautiful!

I was going to try to run again tonight (on the treadmill) -- but now I am not sure, I am little nauseated and I think I want to see how this plays out.

Here is my beautiful black eye ...

I hope you are all doing well, be careful out there!

awwww bonnie! I am sorry! Running in the snow/ice/cold is not my favorite. I'll never be a fan. TM tonight might be good. Take it easy and have a good time there!

Nooooooo!!!! I don't want to hear of you being hurt again! :( I am so sorry! That ice is out to get people! I hope you don't have a concussion or something! Be careful!

Hi Guys ... I think it is fine ... but it is funny how it progressed from an egg-sized bump to a smaller bump and lots of color -- I uploaded a picture just for you Burt ...

It would be better if I didn't have to sit in a room and work for 11 hours afterword ... lots of ibuprofen is necessary to keep the headache away.

Oh Bonnie, that's a doozy. So many shades of purple. Pretty.

Nice excuse, but I think I know what you've been up to.

From Scott Ensign on Thu, Feb 03, 2011 at 22:18:29 from 65.100.210.17

geez that is brutal. a lot of people going down these days.

well, I have study section next week, but the good news is it is in San Fran not DC. it is nice they moved the winter meeting to the west coast.

enjoy the rest of your stay and be careful. it is really dangerous running on the roads back there with the crazy eastern drivers.

Ouch Bon!! I for sure know what you mean about the ice - it is thick and everywhere here. Scott is right, us Eastern drivers are crazy! (wait... I qualify as midwest... whew) Heal well! (If not Burt can photo shop you all better!)

I have a feeling there's a lot of resemblance right now between your face and Kelli's butt.

NO!!! That's not what I meant!!!

Because of the bruising...!!!

Oh my goodness, Bonnie!! OUCH!! You have such a good attitude about it. The good news is that you look beautiful even with the black eye.

From Dan on Fri, Feb 04, 2011 at 20:32:51 from 24.209.83.20

Dang it Nan... why didn't *I* think of that one!!
