4 mile: 28:10 (2005)

10K: 43:33 (2010)

10 mile: 1:13:35 (2009) (1:12:15 split in 1/2 marathon, 2011)

1/2 marathon: 1:34:31 (2011)

marathon: 3:19:15 (2013)

Short-Term Running Goals:

3:20 marathon - Eugene Marathon, April 28, 2013 (can I say I really want a sub 3:20? but I will be happy with 3:20-3:23) -- whoohoo!

Some good intermediate races 15K - 1/2 marathon, to gauge my fitness level (done this, hit a 1:34:35 1/2 marathon in March 2013, on a hilly course)

Going after my 10 mile PR in Fall 2013

Maybe some good 10K races after the infernal Arizona summer is over!

Long-Term Running Goals:

I want to be one of those runners who is still running in their 80s (or 90s?).  You know the ones, who look all grisley and fit?  That is what I would like!  Until then, I just want to work hard and be as fast as I can, for as long as I can.

2:04:56.  Not the best of days. Big whine: my SI joint is out of wack and it every step hurt.  It is hot as all get out (86F at the end, with sun), and the last 7 miles were into a 18 mph headwind. Wawawa.  Big baby.

I am at work now.  Having a hard time concentrating as I figure out how/when to make an unscheduled trip to Fort Collins next week.  It looks like my Mom has been very sick (she has lost over 50 lbs in a month and now weighs less than 100 lbs), they found a spot on her lung.  She is/has been a heavy smoker for most of her life.  So, the CT scan is next week and I am going to try to get out there to see her, regardless of the results. I have been expecting this for years, but it is still sort of a shock.  I am reminded of the lung cancer researchers at Vanderbilt University that wore appropriate buttons on their lab coats, "no one deserves lung cancer", no matter how one may feel about smoking, it is very hard to quit and a most horrible way to die, so no one "deserves" it - very true.  So that is my final saga for the day...

You won't regret going. Sorry all did not go your way. SI joint problems? Has this been going on a while?

Well, it kind of "comes and goes", the chiro visit usually works right away. I think that once I got the orthotics to fix the lower extremity problem it sort of has caused some upper extremity problems in my hips. Today was by far one of the worst, which is too bad, because I have felt pretty strong these days.

How are you Michelle? Feeling ready for San Diego? You will text me when you are done won't you?? I will be thinking of you the whole time.

Sorry to hear about your mom Bonnie. I hear Fort Collins is nice. I have a high school buddy that lives there. So enjoy it as much as you can.

Sorry about it all Bonnie! Your pain and your mother's possible diagnosis, neither are fun things to deal with. Lost my dad to Lymphoma 4.5 years ago - not my favorite thing to watch anyone you love suffer like that. You are right "no one deserves it"!

I hope you are feeling marginally better and that you have your plans to CO sorted out. Good luck and best wishes, prayers and hope to you both.

Rachel, thank you so much for your note I really appreciated it. It looks like my trip will be postponed until the next round of tests are finished.

Burp - eerrrr Burt, Fort Collins is a very nice place ... thanks for your comment.

I'm so sorry that you're struggling, Bonnie.

I would like to see you in Colorado under happier circumstances. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
