Was interested in how a hard 800M would feel. My legs were still pretty tired from last week's workouts but I just went for it- goal was to run 2:15-2:20. I figured I'd try to start out in 33/34 seconds for the first 200m and then see where things went from there. I was right on pace and continued through 68 for the first lap, the 2nd lap felt surprisingly good but my legs were drained. I ended up right at 2:20. I could have pushed harder the 2nd lap if I'd realized how much I was slowing down but I'm happy with it- was just a hard effort to see how it felt, I didn't mean to race it. That didn't spare my throat from getting super raw, I really need to get my nasal rinse and asthma meds going.

I think the next hard effort I do will be a sub 5 mile, but I want to do another 400m workout or two before then... Or maybe I should just make an effort for sub 5 this weekend because the baby is coming next week and I have no idea how much I'll run once I have a newborn and a wife recovering from childbirth...
