Went out for an easy 4-7 miles and ended up running a half marathon in 1:27:37. My first mile over to the track was 7:25 and my 2nd was 7:07. So I decided to pick it up a little and see if I could run goal marathon pace without too much effort. I ended up running mid 6 minute pace for the next 11 miles. I felt great up until mile 9ish and then I had to push it to keep up with the pace. The last 4 miles were still all 6:35-6:40. I feel pretty happy about keeping the pace consistent once I got tired. I've got a long ways to go with both speed and endurance but today was a big step in the right direction! |
