Long-Term Running Goals:

I want to accomplish my short term goals first... Once I do that, I will have an idea of what to expect long term... 44 yrs old now and since I've been injured free for 1 month I am jumping back on marathon training. Any recommendations for a good marathon in December 2021? What is your recommendation?

Personal:

Don't knock it until you try it.

Welcome to the blog!

Looks like you've got some impressive times. Any ideas what your next races will be?

Looking for a sub 1:10 Jan 24, 2009. I just ran a 32:10 10k in a tough course Nov 26, 2009. I can probably say I'm in 31:30 shape given that the course elevation was gruesome. I recently got the itch again to train for a marathon. My last good marathon buildup was in fall 2006 and spring 2007 after the spring marathon I didn't train as I used to. The marathon humbled me in Dec 2007 and again in Fall 2008, both marathons were low mileage buildups. My new years resolution for 2009 was to run everyday with no off days! Till this day I haven't skipped a beat! So I got the marathon itch. After reading Pauls blog and questioning him for tactics I'm on a mileage high. This whole year I have been avg around 60 to 70 mpw. NOW I AM READY to tackle a sub 1:10 and 2:30 marathon.

Sounds great- the consistency will serve you well, and Paul is a great one for advice. I have been following a schedule he gave me for the past 2 years with great success, especially the Big Workouts. Good luck.
