Attended Japanese high school and finished in March 2020. Was very lucky to be able to be a member of a very good team of runners at my high school, even though I was injured most of the time and was not able to be much of a contributor. Am currently doing an Engineering internship at a large manufacturer of Automotive transmissions, etc. It is really exciting. In spring of 2021, if COVID-19 has subsided, I am planning to serve an LDS mission, after which I plan to go to college and study Engineering.

I have been planning to run a half marathon in November of this year if it does not get cancelled.  I got the training log of Hitomi Nimiya today.  She has the fastest women's half marathon time of any woman born outside of Africa and also has the Japanese national record.  I am thinking of trying to adapt her training to my own training.  I am getting excited to be able to go outside and run again.

make sure to ease back into training with two weeks off; i can personally attest if you go full throttle too fast you may end up costing yourself more training than you’d save. maybe take a couple of weeks building to the mileage you want to do consistently before starting workouts.

Thanks for the advice Eugene. I surely will ease into it gradually. I don't know when I will be able to run outside again. Our city is in lockdown, and the police will stop you if it looks like you are out for anything unnecessary. So even after my two weeks of self quarantine are up, I still might not be able to run. The training log I have of Hitomi Nimiya is for her last 100 days of training leading up to her win at the 2020 Houston Half Marathon. I will try to gradually build up my base to where I can do those workouts probably starting in August before my November half marathon. I hope it doesn't get cancelled. It seems all races are being cancelled these days.

my (hopefully) realistic timeline is that the recovery rates should start climbing up above the infection rates in 6-8 weeks, so while i think summer races are out of the question, i hope to see life beginning to become normal again by july/august.

the past few weeks when i wasn't running much i did lots of strength work at home, squats, pushups, core, and now that i'm running again i've noticed my easy pace is considerably faster. there's a couple of other factors, like being 15 pounds lighter(it's hard to diet when you're doing 120+ mile weeks!), but still, something to consider while you're in lockdown(alabama is too, but as long as you aren't in a group i haven't seen police harrassing anyone).
