5 miles am on treadmill in just under 41 mins. quads were REALLY sore. I hope it's not b/c i'm out of shape from not running for 4 days. I'm guessing i'm just not used to the flatness and constant rhythm of the treadmill and perhaps even the speed which seems pathetic of going 7:30 miles :)

5 miles pm in just under 40 mins. quads not as sore but ate dinner before the run which was no good. also the heat was turned up to 70 in the basement which was no good. had a little episode of spots in my head and dizziness like i used to have but i ran through it and 5 mins later was fine.

i'm going to a funeral tomorrow. someone's dad at work fell on some ice and hit his head and died from brain swelling. the son was there when it happened. terrible!

My measly 42 miles the week coming back from my 2 weeks off was all really tough and I got slightly sore from pretty much every run. 2 weeks in I started to feel normal again. But 4 days isn't 2 weeks so I dunno. 7:30 is a decent clip on the treadmill because of the heat. Its much worse than running outside at 70 degrees because you create heat but dont have the natural wind of your running speed. So the heat just builds up in a cloud around you smothering you. It is a lot more efficient than the snow and ice though. I have had some trouble with that here in prov slowing some of my runs to about 9min pace. But most have been more like 8 because most of the roads are clear though few of the sidewalks are so I try to stay on the road when I can but sometimes the road isnt big enough for my legs and the cars at the same time. Though I am trying to lose weight and it is pretty successful so far. I have lost 4-5lb in 2 weeks just by counting my calories and not snacking at all (especially late at night which was usually my 4th meal lol).

That means, of course, that I am back to my pre-christmas weight (160). But hopefully I can keep it coming off. I am in the routine now and I am not starving myself. Im just going to bed instead of eating another meal.

i was so psyched one day after a treadmill run that i was 162...BUT a week earlier i was 169! since we're like what...70% water or something, there's a lot of water weight so it's hard to keep constant tabs on the real weight. it's hard to get back into running, especially in this weather when it feels so nice to not run. BUT i feel like a fat pigcow if i don't get in at least 10 miles. i had cheesecake yesterday at the funeral lunch. it was pretty good i guess but the slice will haunt me for a few days. i think the weather will be fairly warm tomorrow and i can get in a longish 23 mile run or so. not sure i can handle it being an indoor runner now but i kind of need to prepare for running up mt mitchell in a month.

Yeah, Im talking about the lowest weight of the day--naked after my morning run, before breakfast lol.

I joined match.com but haven't had much activity yet. The providence area is pretty slim picking imo. There are basically 2 that I would like to date. I emailed them and no response... WTF I would not say either were out of my league by any means. For the few ugly girls who 'winked' at me (nobody has emailed me yet) I at least had the courtesy to tell them I was not interested. Most of the rest are either weirdos or just plain fat. But I paid for 3 months so I'll see what happens.

dude, you're awesome....i love your view of the dating scene :)

you should try the boston area too, why not? way more people there.

You think I am too picky or what?

Lets be honest, with my schedule (which btw has gotten a lot worse this semester and is gonna get much worse this summer through the next summer-- like 12 hours at the hospital + studying on top of that) am I gonna drive up to boston very often to see someone? I highly doubt it and it would be bad for my grades and my running if I did. My running is gonna suffer anyway starting this summer. Luckily I am only 23 and the hardest part of med school only lasts 1.5 years so I will have a chance for a comeback.
